The more I think about it, I think algebra’s the most human form of mathematics, at least out of the ones that we all took in high school.
Calculus is important for divining the deep mysteries of the world, and trigonometry is useful for explaining the physical world, but algebra’s what we use to live.
We use letters like x and y as variables in the education system, but there are a lot of other variables that we rely on every day. Like happiness. Or success, or justice, or humor, or love. The things that we, as a culture, want. The things we need. The things that we work towards every day. And because there’s no general consensus on the proper definitions, we have to take all this data from the media and the people around us and the things that we see every day when we walk back to our homes, and we have to glean answer from that giant mass. Given human existence as you know it, define happiness. Given y, define x.
Except we have to check our work continuously because we never have enough information. And we don’t have teachers to check our work. We just wake up one day with the feeling that something’s gone horribly wrong with our lives.

I feel bad
This is one of those Sundays where I can do little besides sleep
"I am a very evil and wicked person, so this declaration is to thank everyone who attempted to prove otherwise. There is a side of me that greatly appreciated, and under-recognized just what went into those thoughts. That side of me is scarred and not functioning properly, but even still, the only thing I can do is walk into this abuse. The venom in my veins is what keeps me alive while I work to destroy others, all that I hold true doesn't exist, and all the things I've heard about are as of unconfirmed. It feels as though life itself is only what is in front of me, and everything that is left behind breaks."

It sounds...familiar to what I used to write in my journals.
I kind of like some of the more mawkish xkcd strips, so I guess this is a compliment but also a note that it's not reaching as large an audience as it possibly could be.
I've learned to tolerate drama...except on the boat
What is that from?
Also, with regards to the Schlock Mercenary guy's review of Mr. Peabody & Sherman: The short's name is "Almost Home"...it's a teaser for the DWA movie Home, which is coming out in November...and I have to say, the Boovians look pretty toyetic.
There was supposedly going to be a Rocky & Bullwinkle short before the movie...it might end up being on the home video release though.

When the Westboro Baptist guy dies, let's all throw a dildo at his funeral and call his family homos.I think it's what he would have wanted.
