because astrological descriptions are vague enough to apply to almost anyone
that's how they work
But the rambling and ritualism and the love of trivia and the religiousness and the seeming unconcerned for other people's thoughts when really I just like trivia!
The status of "gypsy" might be similar to the status of "spaz", in the United States -- a term that's considered offensive elsewhere but not here.
Though I think "gypsy" is falling out of favor too.
i think it's more that there aren't that many Romani in America, so there's less awareness; the term is certainly offensive but only to Romani themselves (and even then, not all Romani).
'Spaz' is different; the British insult and the American slang have the same etymology, but mean quite different things.
You are the end result of a “would you push the button” prompt where the prompt was “you have unlimited godlike powers but you appear to all and sundry to be an impetuous child” – Zero, 2022
Holy crap, Internet Explorer, of all browsers, has better type rendering than the Windows version of Chrome
in terms of tone, story structure, to an extent content, and of course the use of music in Tangled, 'Tangled' and 'Wreck-It Ralph' have a lot more in common with Disney's '90s movies, CGI notwithstanding
It's in the middle. The concept is Pixar-like (parallel worlds between humans and their surroundings, focus on a subject otherwise thought unusable/odd in film) but the story progression is classic Disney, with enough of a modern sensibility that it isn't boring.
I've learned to tolerate drama...except on the boat
I don't think we count Planes in the canon of Disney feature animation. It was done by DisneyToon Studios in Australia, I think, not WDAS...
(The Pixar name is more fragile than Disney's at this point; if all the stupid crap the Disney name has been attached to over the years hasn't damaged the brand, for sure Planes didn't)
Planes is from the studio that did Disney's direct to video films.
It also sucks in everywhere but looks, and even then, watching it in comparison to even Cars 2 is weird because it doesn't "move right". Ergo it doesn't count.
but yeah, with regards to Wreck-It Ralph, the setting is obviously Pixar-inspired, but the whole 'lost royal reclaiming kingdom' theme is classic Disney, and Turbo is absolutely a Disney villain, and not at all like a Pixar antagonist
Speaking of Cars 2, I think that's the only film Pixar has made that's been seen as a cash grab.
It wasn't particularly terrible (better than Planes, I tell you what) but it did strike me as a bit phoned-in. "Mater as a spy" just seems more ridiculous than engaging, mostly because of the character's status as, more or less, comic relief.

See ya, Tachyon
I always figured Wreck-It Ralph's Pixarness came from the fact that John Lasseter was heavily involved
Pixar as a brand has a fair amount of equity, if not as much as it did when Up came out
I think the public's starting to catch that they're human and worthy of forgiveness-- everything I've heard about Brave has been good (if not particularly excellent), and on a personal level I adored Monsters U.
More people have said that and been killed than there are thorium decay products.
I have spent about one year trying to get estrogen. I have made almost zero progress towards being recognized as a lady, in practical terms. There are so few people in my (what passes for a) meatspace life who have any respect for my wishes. There are dead ends everywhere. It makes me sad.

Why is this a perfect description of me, despite the fact that my birthday is the hundred and first day of the year?
in particular, at least in the USA, the term is often applied to Irish Travellers, who are obviously not Romani

Assassin poems, Poems that shoot

and take their weapons leaving them dead
It never bothered me anyway.
i know Disney has like a ton of problems, really, i do, but i really really like Disney animated movies
What would i pay to spend a day warm on the sand?

and no, 'just keep swimming' doesn't count
i'm maybe a tiny bit obsessed with it
well, you've seen it, i haven't
really, i just think it looks good and i'm tired of reading complaints about it
so i guess people complaining about Frozen are to me what Frozen is to you what Macklemore is to Mo
is a fantastic song, but Toy Story isn't a musical
it's incidental music, not part of the diegesis

If nothing else, the quality of their films has improved enough for that not to be a ridiculous claim
Brave certainly isn't Pixar-does-Disney, that's for sure
haven't seen the thing with the planes, it looks crap

i want to see the first one, but truth be told the premise isn't that appealing to me, and none of my family were interested
going out, laters

staring at a screen while images change at 24 per second
FMV cutscenes notwithstanding, Psychonauts is gorgeous with an AMD Radeon 6-whateverthehell
I would guess the PS360 versions wouldn't have that issue because they're actually legit remastered, but it's a bit disappointing
