I used to have a cat who liked to climb up on top of my iMac G3 because it was warm
When I finally upgraded to a flat-panel iMac, she tried climbing up on that too, but never had any success for some odd reason :P

everything i really dislike when you say 'oh, x looks like y' and somebody comes out with 'nuh-uh, x came first, so y is the one that looks like x!'
i'm not ranking the two things, i'm saying the things physically resemble one another. 'x looks like y' means the exact same thing as 'y looks like x'. If this were math we'd say the 'looks like' operation was commutative
i feel like there's often this implicit 'lol ur so ignorant, thinking y came first' there which i resent.
maybe i know which came first but y is more familiar to me. maybe they're both familiar and i just arbitrarily phrased it that way

Also: I always found it amusing that the iMac G3 had a carrying handle
Like, ok guys, slapping a handle on a 40-pound computer doesn't make it portable, especially when there's a mouse and keyboard to worry about
I guess it's for the benefit of schools and stuff so they can easily be swapped out in computer labs and the like, but still

That irritates me too
It seems to come from people who take "x looks like y" as an insult to x, because they refuse to differentiate between "looks like" and "ripped off"

More people have said that and been killed than there are thorium decay products.
I, on the other hand, have recently experienced that special time in every girl's life at which she is told by the gatekeeper that she shouldn't be a girl.
also it is very confusing when you keep your number + get a new micro sim because it doesnt actually say anywhere that you have to deactivate the old one before the new one works. though apparently you do. you just have to go onto the EE help to find that out, but nobody tells you to go there.
at least i hope that is why i have no network right now, and that i havent just been sent a duff phone

PROTIP: when you are making a starbound character and it says that you lose all your items if you are killed in hardcore mode they mean all the items on your person
It's a Motorola moto g. Literally everyone says it's incredible for the price and so far it is p cool. This automatic capitalisation is totally ruining my posting style tho
On the Kojo Namdi show on NPR, on a show about artificial intelligence, neural networks and "deep learning" (i.e. associative learning), Kojo asked "how well does your phone recognize your voice?" to the general audience.
It took me several seconds to realize he was talking about voice recognition apps on smartphones. Y'know, those things that everyone regarded as stupidly buggy and little more than a novelty.
Well, at least, I thought so. Oh well. It seems cell phones as I know them are going farther and farther away from me.
I wish I had a place where everyone had the same opinions; except that they were my opinions; and then whenever you guys said something like "Aliroz, public domain means it should be freely available on the internet; because public domain", or, "Dude, Aliroz, it's not the middle ages anymore. There's nothing wrong with being born outside of wedlock, and there's no need to be legitimized; and by the way, it's okay to accept hatless authority" or "Aliroz, Mister Bean's Holiday is, actually, not a great movie", I'd have a hundred people to dogpile on you guys and then I'd be all like YAY!
You know why I'm a conservative? Because I have an outdated cell phone and I like it.
More specifically, because I have an outdated cell phone, and instead of thinking "I need to get a newer cell phone", I think "cell phones shouldn't be changing this fast".

Cool!
i don't know whether this is the appropriate thing to say in this situation, but good luck.

'NO YOU IGNORANT SHIT, REAL CACTI CAME FIRST'
you said you didn't want sympathy, but good luck doing what you need to do, even if it does mean moving
