I am done with the most despair-inducing, music-related meeting of my life.
I have decided that I am going to get a job next semester. The ensuing distress may kill me, but financial independence...I want that. I want the thing. I want to be something better and superior to being a mere consumer.
His early work was a little too new wave for my tastes, but when The Usual Suspects came out in '95, I think he really came into his own, commercially and artistically. The whole movie has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the scenes a big boost. He's been compared to Anthony Hopkins, but I think Kevin has a far more bitter, cynical sense of humor.
In '95, Kevin released Se7en, his most accomplished film. I think his undisputed masterpiece is "Horrible Bosses", a film so funny, most people probably don't listen to the dialogue. But they should, because it's not just about the pleasures of conformity, and the importance of trends, it's also a personal statement about the actor himself.
