if anything I find that Adventure Time is pretty consistently undersold.
It tends to get branded as a wacky comedy, which is true of the first season and somewhat of the second, after that it starts taking itself a smidgen more seriously and gets really really good. Not that it wasn't already, but like, better.
I know that the Gucci Mane picture was fake but, really, the phrase "bitch I might be" is literally hilarious enough that it transcends that and can fit in almost any regard where one may use the word "maybe"
The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack aired (the latter is, IMO, the worst show that CN has independently produced). This is from 2008-2010.
hold on a sec I missed this
dude, what?
the guy who made Flapjack works on Adventure Time.
and really how are you gonna say that Flapjack is worse than Johnny Test
if anything it and Chowder were some of the only bright spots on the network at the time. Alien Force was good too, if divisive.
Nothing is worse than Johnny Test.
Flapjack's the worst thing that CN has produced independently, except for Secret Saturdays, which was boring. Johnny Test was brought in from Canada, as was Total Drama Island (I hated Canada in those days).
I should probably say that Flapjack's the worst memorable show that Cartoon Network has ever produced independently. There's been other stuff that's worse than Flapjack that I don't care about because it wasn't interesting (though, again, nothing is worse than Johnny Test).
Yeah, Flapjack is more of a personal dislike than anything else. The general aesthetic and the characters rubbed me the wrong way. I will say that the episode where they went West is a work of art.
if this is a serious question (as in, you don't know) count yourself blessed, and never seek out further information on the abomination known as Johnathan Test.
Still, a show cannot make it the only source of laughs, otherwise it won't really work because there's nothing to hook us in besides "hehe look toilet humor we're so funny".
Johnny Test is an American/Canadian cartoon that's just really terrible. The animation more resembles Newgrounds than anything else created around the time, and Newgrounds has better pacing and comedy. The characters rotate between being cardboard cutouts and terrible, soulless monsters with no sense of empathy. The whole premise is ripped from Dexter's Laboratory, as are the characters. And it keeps trying to sell itself like it's the best thing since sliced bread.
An annoying flash cartoon. It's bad, but its badness is overhyped in my opinion. It's really quite bland and stupid, sort of like the Nickelback of animation.
Okay, so it's just a recent television cartoon that people hate because MY NOSTALGIAS
no man it's legitimately really bad.
Like, I am of the belief that most current cartoon hate is overblown and unnecessary but Johnny Test is legitimately painful to watch. Even my younger brothers don't like it.
You are the end result of a “would you push the button” prompt where the prompt was “you have unlimited godlike powers but you appear to all and sundry to be an impetuous child” – Zero, 2022
South Park tends to be unfairly maligned imho. It actually is a legitimately clever show, and very consistently clever too.
I don't really have anything against South Park on any "this is bad and you shouldn't like it" level, I just don't find it enjoyable to watch and also the animation sorta hurts my eyes for some reason.
Honestly I've never bought this part. Everything else is true though
A blond, ditzy child interferes with the experiments of a red-headed child who wears glasses and labcoats. Their disputes must remain under the radar of their blond dad and their ginger/brunette mother and watch out for the nemesis genius with a bowlcut and an embarrassing name.
The only major difference is the addition of the talking dog.

Yeah but having actually given JT a chance (I really, really tried) this doesn't cut to why the show is actually bad.
I've learned to tolerate drama...except on the boat
Johnny Test was traditionally-animated and American-produced at the outset; only in the second season did it switch to Flash and become half-Canadian. In the third season, WB handed the show to Cookie Jar wholesale. It is now a DHX Media property.
Unrelated: One reason I enjoy Extra Credits so much is that they actually seem to like a wide variety of games. They regularly use Call of Duty as an example of good game design.

Attempting to rip off one cartoon and merely managing to poorly ape an inferior one is pretty sad.

Fair enough. As I have also given JT a chance (well, it was either that, a Disney sitcom or whatever Nickelodeon was shilling at the time), I'll admit that the parallels don't come into play in the plots. It just strikes me as either lazy character design or an unnecessary (and probably unwanted) homage.

Anyway I was just joking man, I even said as much.
I bought it just because it really seemed like something Gucci Mane would say.

That's why my response was one word.
the last remnant of Kids' WB!, a series that was initially produced by WB, then shifted to Cookie Jar and turned into cheap Flash shit
this probably will not actually change your mood, it's just the thing I had open in the next tab over.

I don't think I've ever heard the ending theme, since I tend to watch Adventure Time on watchcartoonsonline.
Cartoon themes have a history with me though.
