Paul Ryan's love of Rage Against the Machine is amusing, because he is the embodiment of the machine that our music has been raging against for two decades. Charles Manson loved the Beatles but didn't understand them. Governor Chris Christie loves Bruce Springsteen but doesn't understand him. And Paul Ryan is clueless about his favorite band, Rage Against the Machine.
Ryan claims that he likes Rage's sound, but not the lyrics. Well, I don't care for Paul Ryan's sound or his lyrics. He can like whatever bands he wants, but his guiding vision of shifting revenue more radically to the one percent is antithetical to the message of Rage.
I wonder what Ryan's favorite Rage song is? Is it the one where we condemn the genocide of Native Americans? The one lambasting American imperialism? Our cover of "Fuck the Police"? Or is it the one where we call on the people to seize the means of production? So many excellent choices to jam out to at Young Republican meetings!

I thought I could make it. I misjudged the distance.
One time that happened to me while I had my grandmother in the car.
It was safe--it was like 6 AM and there wasn't actually any cross-traffic--but it led to a moment of awkward silence once we both realized what I'd done.
I've finally gotten around to watching Breaking Bad
Funny, I saw someone watching that at work today.
Makes me wonder how much job security you have to have to watch TV shows on a huge-ass Apple monitor in plain view of everyone who walks past your cubicle.

Now I'm wondering why that light changed in the first place if there was no cross-traffic. I assume someone stopped long enough to trigger the light, but turned right on red before it actually changed.
It's strange, the timing of the lights on OH 317 in Whitehall has always seemed a bit wonky (constant stopping for residential side streets instead of a smooth progression), but they're not especially zealous about ticketing (nor do they have cameras) so it's probably not intentional.

So this weekend my family's planning to go out and buy me a traffic light as a belated birthday present.

I wonder, would it cost extra to buy a traffic light with the arrows embedded into them since those stand out more than the normal circular ones, or would it be cheaper since theoretically those shouldn't need as much LEDs? (Unless, that is, they don't use LEDs at all.)

My first thought was that a unit with arrows would cost extra just because they tend to come in four- or five-section units, as opposed to a normal three-section one, but arrows can be used in 3-section signals too so perhaps that's irrelevant.
I've never actually looked into the pricing of LED modules, believe it or not, because they're generally too bright to be desirable for home display, which is what I'm interested in right now. I am curious as to whether or not an LED arrow module costs more than a circular LED module...I might ask on AARoads.

@Tre: You might find this interesting. Some traffic lights use what's called a bimodal arrow, meaning that instead of having separate sections for the yellow arrow and the green arrow, there's a single arrow that changes from green to yellow.
Doctor Who reference in Pokemon B2W2? Headcanon accepted.
I don't like violence or misery or the portrayal of either. For instance the Saw movies, I don't see how anyone can watch that shit. It's just torture porn. Like right now the show is coming close to that point in the first few episodes where if it goes past it (which it's hinting at,) I'm going to turn it off. Did the same with Game of Thrones, which is amazing I got as far into that as I did
Set and produced in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Breaking Bad is the story of Walter White (Bryan Cranston), a struggling high school chemistry teacher who is diagnosed with advanced lung cancer at the beginning of the series. He turns to a life of crime, producing and selling methamphetamine with a former student, Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul), with the aim of securing his family's financial future before he dies.[1]

And even then Microsoft's idea of "not bloatware" includes Windows Live Essentials and Internet Explorer "with Bing optimization". *facehoof*

Maybe I do need to go back to seeing a therapist. I'm getting kind of tired of having days like this.

Myself, I wanted to go to bed earlier. So naturally I got out my guitar and started playing all the songs from The Who's Tommy.
Imi-G: sabotaging himself since forever
I like.
Thanks.
Erm... you wouldn't mind necroing that RP I made, would you?
I guess I gotta figure out a command to put in, then.
Green envy. I has it.
It's also why I don't read Daredevil (until lately).
So not having bloatware is a selling point now.

Just got back from my first day of work.
I feel pretty awesome right now.
How is Ignatius impersonating you?
That's my best friend you're talking about, you must realize.
