Well, Skrillex didn't really bring anything new to the table, he just used a background in pop-y post-hardcore to make underground dance music more palatable to a wider audience.
And all a wobble is is an LFO assigned to a filter cutoff, so you'd be surprised at how far it can go. (*Wobble basses have been a D'n'B staple since '98 or so*)
Can't wait for deadmaus and skrillex to become washed-up yesterday's news so people stop talking about them
deadmaus especially for thinking people should drop the S and append a 5 to his name
Deadmau5 has been around for awhile though, and he doesn't even make dubstep really (he has a single dubstep song that I know of), which is why I am sort of confused as to why he's associated with the genre.
As for the name there's actually a story behind that. Apparently, he found a dead mouse in his house, tried to change his name to "deadmouse" on an IRC chat when talking about it, found out that was too long, and that "deadmaus" was taken, so he switched to "deadmau5" instead, thus concluding the weirdest name-creation story in the history of music.
He and Skrillex are part of this whole "EDM scene", which seems to have gained the first real popular foothold for straight up electronic dance music in the US.
"A 'Mech as powerful as possible, as impenetrable as possible, and as ugly and foreboding as conceivable, so that fear itself will be our ally," as Kerensky himself said.

omg they're making cloud atlas into a film
this looks like it's going to own so much
the book is really, really, really, really great
the film looks good but even with that trailer i doubt it will quite live up to the book
But Atlas is a mythological figure.
Also a BattleMech.
