I have a problem with compulsively needing to share everything I write. ._.
My CW teacher hated my writing style, she'd always give my stories low grades for not making "internal sense". I dunno if that's a valid complaint or not.
Remember back in the 50s when they'd record like Elvis singing YOU AIN'T NOTHIN BUT A HOUND DOG and then they'd turn the record over and reverse it and it was all NYERP NYERP NYERP NYERP NYERP and people were all like, "That is actually the voice of Satan coming from that song."
With some of the stuff that pops into my head at 2 in the morning, I'm fully convinced that sleep-deprived could substitute for either alcohol or hallucinogens depending on how long it's been.

I want to start dedicating more of my time to creative pursuits and less to silly bullshit.
(She says, while watching Barbie cartoons)
I keep thinking that I should write more blog posts. I want to do one called "5 Common Traffic Signs That Don't Meet Current Standards", a sort of follow-up to this post I wrote in April.

Yeah, the Life in the Dreamhouse shorts we were talking about earlier. I saw them on Tumblr and I decided to watch a few.
The premise does amuse me a bit, in that unlike other Barbie cartoons I've seen, they're actually meant to be toys in this one, albeit toys who move and talk.

I have the opposite problem. I won't share anything.
Also, whether that's a valid complaint depends on the kind of writing, I think.
@Lazuli: If you need to understand the fundamentals of music and music theory and such, maybe you could try PM'ing Solstace on Novafest. He's into music theory quite a bit, I believe.

Lumine: Admittedly, I've never gone long enough without sleeping for the "hallucinogenic" variety. But I'm somewhat familiar with what happens when you're awake for about 50 hours on end.
I haven't really written anything creative in a while. If I did, I'd be tempted to share it but in the end probably decide that it would be better to keep it private.

I got a "D" in my English 1302 class because my final project was a persuasive essay of my choosing, and I chose to write about how "graphic novel" is a flat-out stupid, pretentious term for what comics simply are. My point was that no matter how revered Watchmen is among its fans, it's still a damn comic book. I used the rise of Crumb's popularity to show how he transcended gutter comics to being a national treasure whose work is considered well above the very things that influenced him the most, like Barks (btw Crumb was a huge influence to me, but still.) Another sacred cow I attacked was Persepolis, a moving semi-autobiographical tale by an Iranian refugee at its core but looked like it was drawn by an 8th grader with a sharpie but lauded as a bold step forward in "sequential art" (another stupid word for "comics".) Anyway the student grader who handed back my essay basically calling it crap wrote a long-winded admonition mostly about how I did not include any mention of manga, and said in the most smartass condescending manner that I should research "asian comics" before running my mouth about the rest.
I went to the instructor and asked him if the student graders that he selects have the common fucking knowledge that Iran and those two other countries bordering it that are always in the news are aware that they're a part of that chunk of earth known as Asia. He responded that "Forsythe, well not everyone is as smart as you." It probably didn't help my grade much when I told him that nobody takes that kind of tone with me and told him that maybe he should look into student graders who aren't fucking failures at basic geography.

^^I was always under the impression that "graphic novel" as opposed to "comic book" was merely a matter of length (eg. an issue of a comic book, as opposed to a volume of a graphic novel).
As for manga, 4koma at least are certainly comics. Comic strips even. I wouldn't know enough to comment on the rest.

So I've set my DVR to record all four episodes of Gravity Falls.

"Graphic Novel" is basically a term people try to apply to comics so they can act like they're not reading comics. IIRC, Harry Potter did the same kind of coverup for their books so adults could read them in public without getting embarrassed. Japan doesn't have this problem. Comics are just comics over there.

Maybe pretentious people do.
I dunno, every time I've seen the term it's "this is long, so it's a graphic novel! That's how this works, right?"

So here was an idea I had:
Obviously that's far from complete, and I'm not even sure what I have there is 100% accurate, but I thought it would be a cool idea to build on. What do y'all think?

That's true. I just thought it might be interesting to look at what went where and where each chain ultimately ended up before getting crushed by the CyberMacy's.
I hate Bleach and I know it's called a zanpakto, or however you spell that. It's in the intro of every freaking episode that stands between me and Deadman Wonderland.

@Lee: Yeah, I mainly just wrote out the ones I could think of off the top of my head, so I could get an idea of what the chart would look like.
I figure if/when I do a comprehensive one I'd rather put it together on the computer anyway, because it'll be much larger.

I never seem to get loopy like I used to.
Instead I get this feeling like I am now where I just can't focus on any one thing long enough to do something worthwhile, but I'm not tired enough to go to bed.

Repeat, "Applebuck Season", (2010), Applejack works hard to harvest the Applebucks in Ponyville by herself. (Animated).
Case in point: back when Loopy Avenue was a thing, that description would make me laugh like an idiot. Instead it's just mild amusement...

I know Solstace pretty well. But thank you.

"N!ggas in Paris" was already a pretty good song, but it seems like absolutely everyone else who tackles the beat makes it better.
also Chris Brown's version has a really trippy music video.
It looks like a typical performance video as viewed by someone who just dropped a bunch of LSD.

And no, actually.
I've seen many parodies thereof, but never the original movie.

Anyway, I am considering making a thread about this whole "Anubis-kun"/"Apophis-kun" phenomenon on danbooru but I sort of doubt anyone would care.
