Half the purpose of going to Wal-Mart, for me at least, is treating it as an amusing panorama of American cliches. Here's the American Dream, folks! Seriously, I end up thinking that any time I'm there, even if I try not to.

Nice pictures, AU.
I take it this Wal-Mart has been remodeled in the past few years? That decor package dates to 2008 or 2009, when they started rolling out the new branding. The one in Reynoldsburg received a similar update last year, though the signs in that one aren't bilingual.

I was a bit surprised when the one in Reynoldsburg was remodeled, mainly because it had only been open about 10 or 11 years at the time and did not seem in especially poor condition.
The one I visited in Newnan, Georgia back in July had the same post-2008 decor. It didn't seem new enough to originally have looked that way, so I imagine it was remodeled as well, though the store couldn't have been more than 10 years old or so.

In suburban areas, at least, you can often get a rough idea of how old a store is by judging when the area was developed. The Kroger in Reynoldsburg that I wouldn't shut up about a few months ago, for instance, clearly dates to the 1960s, as does the surrounding neighborhood.
It's not entirely reliable, though...there is a Kroger Marketplace in Gahanna that was built in 2007 or so, but it's in the middle of a 1950s/60s-era suburb. (It replaced a Kmart that closed when the chain filed bankruptcy in 2002)

Yeah, it did. They built an entirely new Kroger Marketplace on the site, which was among the first few Kroger Marketplace stores in existence.
Interestingly, it replaced a much older, smaller Kroger "greenhouse" that had been just a couple blocks away. That one remained empty for a couple years before the board of education bought it and tore it down to build additional buildings for Gahanna Lincoln High School.

I don't know.
I remember being heartbroken when the Kroger at Columbus Square closed back in July, because it was the last of the former Cub Foods stores in Columbus to still be operating, and it had been nearly untouched inside. And I didn't get the chance to take pictures.

I imagine that the names assigned to them indicate whose personality (and also voice) each pony has in the episode.

Dear Princess Celestia,
Switching bodies with your friends temporarily is awesome, because you can be as reckless as you like but when you switch back they're the ones who will have to deal with the pain and the hangovers and the quite possible pregnancy.
I've learned to tolerate drama...except on the boat
Though really everybody else would be the same, maybe as Twilight Rainbow would use her wings to study far-away places and Pinkie Rarity would use her horn to attempt to summon as much candy and hedonism as possible.
Rarity Pinkie would be horrified all the while, obviously.

I am considering selling the 25% stake in Politico, as I have no idea what to do with it otherwise. The same with the 12% stake in Corus Entertainment.

I was at Hallmark Gold Crown today.
I don't know why I wanted to go there, they had the Christmas stuff already. (There was an ornament of Belle and the Enchanted Rose, I should tell you, as well as a cheesy sports-equipment ESPN ornament)
Also there was a Twilight card with Summit's logo on the back. The imaginary music from the post-takeover TV logo immediately popped into my head.

I have a mini-photodump of my own to post in a minute here, as soon as I get them color-corrected and uploaded.

Really? Huh. Were they Colorado DOT signs or City and County of Denver signs?
Comments
I mean, I like it.
An aisle sign.
Darth Vader and Betty Crocker (who else thought of Homestuck?)
Packaged Deli sign.
Dairy sign.
Yakult freezer.
Clichéd Hershey's Syrup packaging.
Broncos Tim Tebow merchandise thing. Note the "action" effects.
"Thank you for shopping at Walmart." sign.
A misplaced "Refreshments" sign; a greeter and customers kept showing up in the frame before I had the chance to take this.
YOU HAVE WITNESSED "AMERICA".
REFRESCOS
...are you implying Wal-Mart is fake to you, like a television show?

I never cared for them.
...what the hell would the moral be?

I took this picture of KMGH's building on December 18, 2010 (IIRC).
From today:
One of two walls outside of Cherry Creek Mall's Apple Store, filled with notes of respect for Steve Jobs.
The other wall.
One of the elevators.
Both of them.
Metal ducks, flying towards a fountain.
The lower part of the fixture.
The upper entrance to Nordstrom, which we did not enter. Mother doesn't like it, I don't think.
Aurora:
Channeling CA here, and here, and here.
...I didn't know Nordstrom was even still around. I assumed it was one of the many many chains that got eaten up by Macy's.
Also I love that Buckley Road sign. Backlit street signs are always cool.
I don't know why I wanted to go there, they had the Christmas stuff already. (There was an ornament of Belle and the Enchanted Rose, I should tell you, as well as a cheesy sports-equipment ESPN ornament)

Mostly road signs, sorry.
I have never understood the purpose of the "TO US 62" assembly attached to a gantry of signs directing you to US 62.
The OH 315 NORTH sign has room for a destination, but there isn't one. Presumably because OH 315 doesn't really go anywhere but Columbus.
2B or not 2B? That is the question.
OH 315 Northbound:
Here's a neat comparison of Highway Gothic and ClearviewHwy. I have to say I prefer the latter.
Thee Medical Center Drive interchange is one of the newest interchanges along OH 315, having been built in 2003 to serve OSU Medical Center.
Supplemental sign for the Lane Avenue exit.
And finally, the GPS on my phone told us to take the "Ohio State You-neev" exit, presumably in an attempt to match this sign.
It was fine, but strange to me.
