It's a fun comic. I've been meaning to re-read it forever.
Almond is the youngest and the shortest, consistently underestimated for that reason, full of bravado with a dash of bloodthirst, a bit of a pig, and if I'm remembering correctly has a penchant for silly nicknaming.
...in hindsight, Amethyst and Almond have some surprising similarities.
I just realized today that Steven and Connie's relationship has a lot of similarities to Cucumber and Almond's, only they're not related and Connie's not a lesbian.

I dunno; you've seen the entire series, so you know as much as we do at this point. Let the speculation commence!
It's actually been confirmed somewhere, that Rose did not need to give up her physical form to give birth to Steven, but in order for Steven to be a hybrid she did.
She could've given birth to an ordinary human, but she wanted a hybrid to bridge the gap between humans and gems.
