MLP: It was always weird to me that the fandom made such a big deal out of liking something intended for little girls.

Like, so what? I've always shamelessly enjoyed things aimed at children. My favorite book is friggin' Matilda, and to this day I still read the Junie B. Jones series in my spare time for kicks-and-giggles.

Harry Potter: I was never really that interested in the movies, so I never watched beyond Order of the Phoenix. I did see Chamber of Secrets on a school field trip, once, which was a fun experience. School buses lining up outside a mall with a movie theater in it...
  • ONWARDS AOSHIMA

the order of the phoenix was the worst of the movies

clearly the solution is to never enjoy anything again

thats the spirit!! alternatively only enjoy things that are totally universally acclaimed, so from now on you will only like james joyce, Nick cave's output over the last decade, and The Wire.

Give me good old fashioned American sabotage
    Home grown ingenuity
    Built-in obsolescence. Extended adolescence
The faultiest things in life are free
Clean living is the biggest safeguard
    Infection causes misery
Tedium, mediocrity, the essence of western democracy
I'll demolish that building when I come to it
We're going to lose the erection
I'm proud to be in charge
I've reached the peak of my chosen profession

    Re: Gravity Falls:

I feel weird for identifying with Mabel to the extent that I do.

In a way she seems like what I wish I could be. She's just as silly as I am, but she's secure with her silliness. She wears her silliness as a badge of pride and puts her unique spirit into everything she does.

Then I realize that I'm looking up to a fictional 12-year-old and I kinda feel pathetic...

I've learned to tolerate drama...except on the boat
I honestly think that if Disney treats it right (last I saw its ratings were up there with network darling Phineas & Ferb) GF is bound to be one of this decade's best-remembered cartoons

MLP:FIM proper will probably fade away and be remembered only as an internet phenomenon, unless the whole idea of taking a girls' property and making it good catches on

Fortunately in another universe I at least own the U.S. distribution rights to a bunch of old Disney cartoon series and have been releasing them onto DVD and streaming services and rerunning them on The Hub

Someday The Hub will come to Britain

I hope I own the international rights to those old shows
  • imagei will watch the heck outta this pumpkin patch
although i should probably come up with a name when slightly less loopy

Anyways I don't own Gravity Falls in that universe, though I have contemplated buying its version of Disney

As well as its version of Time Warner
  • imagei will watch the heck outta this pumpkin patch
