    Munch munch, chomp chomp...
And that is why I mentioned it. ^_~

Oh, and for myself there's other stuff like Uchuu Senkan Yamato 2202: Ai no Senshi-tachi, but apparently it's a sequel to the prior 2199, so I'll have to skip out even though it all looks a lot like my jam (and thus is fairly high priority, I think?).
  • We can do anything if we do it together.
    Same on Yamato.

I'm also the same on the Cyborg 009 movies.
  • Munch munch, chomp chomp...
    Oh yeah and also those.
  • this is probably in the running for strangest thing for a girl to say to a guy the first time they meet:

    "Are you a shepherd?"

that's Foo Sakura, not Sakura Foo

So Girlish Number is pretty great and I honestly don't have too many issues with it, save for Kuzu-P, who is intentional and doing his part. But also to hell with Kuzu-P, man.

Alright, now I have increased, if still cautious, hopes for Sakura Quest. The staff looks pretty decent to good overall. Ueda does good work as Mallow in the S/M anime, and before that An in ReLIFE which she pretty much nailed, of shows of hers I'm familiar with. Apparently Anzai is continually hitting it out of the park as Reina from H!E, and I enjoyed her quietly contemplative delivery of Merry in Grimgar. Not familiar enough with the other girls, so I won't speak there. It's nice to see BUNBUN doing the character designs again since I like the YuYuYu and Izetta designs, but considering I don't know too much of how SQ will turn out I can't exactly say much more far as animation goes, but considering Sekiguchi also adapted the designs for Shirobako I don't feel too bad about it. But yeah looks like "cautiously hopeful but likely going to have a good time," much like how I felt about Girlish Number which is turning out solid, is my reaction. Here's hoping it's similar.

Despite a promising start, Hundred is managing to annoy me more than Asterisk War did.  By which I mean it has, within the last three episodes I've seen, had more pointless fanservice than I expected it to have, given that it was already kinda going into drama territory.

Usually people turn down the fanservice when the drama kicks in, so there's more "I want to pat this person on the back" than "I want to smack this person in the face".

That said, sometimes, people you want to smack in the face turn out to be competent, valuable contributors to team efforts to accomplish neat things.  Shirai Kuroko is an example.
  • so what you're saying is... there should be an anime where there's heavy drama but everyone is naked for the entire series, complete with censor bars. Gotcha.

This here PV for ACCA, written by Natsume Ono and directed by Natsume Shingo looks nice.

Honestly though because I'm me one of the shows I'm still most excited for is Idol Jihen, an original in which 47 idols are split into seven groups and run Japanese politics. I hope it's ridiculous.

Come to think of it, while what you stated isn't what I'm actually interested in, Cross Ange actually lies somewhere between the two.

    ...Well played, guitary. Well played.

God, the animation of that franchise seems so amazing.

I remember reading a review of Hundred complete with a series of screenshots detailing one episode's use of the "accidental pervert" gag on five different occasions. Saying five was a good four too many, if not a poor inclusion at all, I was told that this was but the tip of the iceberg.

Not for me. Definitely not for me.

Yeah, it's actually kinda funny, if I saw that as my first exposure to the series, I would probably not have picked it up.
On the other hand, though, now that I've already seen a bunch of eps of it, I feel sufficiently invested in it to continue watching.
And I probably will conveniently forget about all these scenes I didn't enjoy, afterwards, when I think of the series, unless someone points them out again.

I've realized that how I pick what to watch, whether I continue watching something, and what I end up thinking of it, can often seem somewhat disparate.
  • “I'm surprised. Those clothes… but, aren't you…?”
Yes, that will happen. I was wary of Kill La Kill until people who I never expected to be into what I *thought* it might have been were all, "Dude, this is amazing you need to see it!" And then I realised I was being a dumb and was on the train all the way to Funsville.
  • I still sometimes have people randomly scream at me for liking Kill la Kill even though it's now been off the air for 2 years.
  • “I'm surprised. Those clothes… but, aren't you…?”
Some folks are bad at letting things go.

And, like, even if they're going to dunk on a thing you like because they just *must* be like that, do they have to be personal and shrill about it?
  • We can do anything if we do it together.
Some people just don't like to admit they were wrong.
  • I remember this person on tumblr who would only refer to it as The Bad Anime, like it was Voldemort

    good shit
  • “I'm surprised. Those clothes… but, aren't you…?”
I can understand doing that with something of mind-blowing shittiness and offensiveness, but KLK isn't even close to that tier, not even when you take all the nudity and joke misfires and dodgy villain moments as TOTAL MISOGYNY OMFG.
  • I'm not really trying to argue about KLK I think it's pretty appreciated here largely, it's just that I find it strange that it continues to engender that reaction from people even now, especially given that several times it's happened and it's not people I otherwise know.

And it's not confined to any particular platform either.
  • KLK doesn't seem to be my sort of thing, but I have no objections to it existing nor other people enjoying it.
  • “I'm surprised. Those clothes… but, aren't you…?”
    My sister, who up until recently was not into anime at all, has been shotgunning Yuri!!! On Ice all day. So proud. ;w;
  • Munch munch, chomp chomp...
Hell yes. And also hell yes.

So, neat little thing, the director for Early Reins is the same as Queen Emeraldas, in Asadi Yuuji. And the girl who played main girl Margaret Hart, Tomoko Kawakami, also went on to play Athena in Aria, Yura in Futari Ecchi, Hikaru in Hikaru no Go... and Utena. Always fun to see these things.
  • Munch munch, chomp chomp...
I wonder if I'd actually enjoy Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo even a smidgen more than I did as a kid, which to be precise, was not at all and then some so please go away.
  • kill living beings
it would be pretty interesting if it was, given that it doesn't start for a week
  • Munch munch, chomp chomp...
Yeah I misread that as being December of last year for some reason.

    "That really hurt!"
GOOD.  YOU DESERVE IT FOR WHAT YOU DID TO OUR MAIN CHARACTER.
  • Munch munch, chomp chomp...
    I want it.

And I do not know what you are referring to, GMH.
  • Munch munch, chomp chomp...
... I should have guessed, thinking about it.

Idol Jihen was an unfortunate slog, and I'm definitely going with Interviews with Monster Girls for my weekly cuteness. Not a fan of the character designs,  and I'm sold on the premise but it doesn't deliver on the idea of idols well at all. This wouldn't be a deal-breaker for me except for the fact that the designs looks just a bit off in animation, which is further compounded by how utterly drab the actual characters are. It could really stand the fully embrace the absurd premise, I just kinda doubt that will happen. I'd call it disappointing, if not for the fact that I was prepared for it to go precisely this way. Oh well.

    Reminder that Gakuen Handsome.

  • Munch munch, chomp chomp...
Any show that can prompt me into my ugly giggling is a good show.

    Watch Gakuen Handsome.
  • Munch munch, chomp chomp...
Also the LWA series will have 25 episodes, so I'm pretty hype.

Anime is Good, but also Bad.

    the duality of porn
  • I kind of thought they went a little overboard with that actually but now that they're all roomies I don't imagine that'll continue? I dunno.

I had some complaints but you know, of course I did, it's witches, witches are pure and must be protected. I was really nervous that I wouldn't like it, but I largely did. Also this is the second witch-themed anime I've seen now with a mandrake in the first episode.

    Anyway:

i got the impression that she (sucy) started out annoyed/cruel but then softened up and gave her name and a ride once she saw akko putting herself in danger to fuck up the cockatrice for her. so it's fine
  • image Wee yea erra chs hymmnos mea.
The real mystery is what Sucy's plan to distract it would have been in the absence of a convenient Akko and Lotte.
