    Bluh.

The new Unicode standards make them offer a gender selector for emojis with a gendered presentation, so you can pick male or female versions of your emoji.

But the pregnant woman emoji was specifically listed as an exception. 😡

+1000 Queerpoints to whichever software vendor is the first to ignore the standard and provide a pregnant man emoji.
  • The sadness will last forever.

The Canadian in this YouTube video refers to a fivef-cent coin as "a five-cent coin"

We should destroy them using only nickels
  • On a train heading back to university, and I'm sharing a table with two drunk, middle aged, Yorkshiremen who are debating ancient history.
  • It is truly a sight to behold.

I don't know about other other countries, but we usually call them nickels.
  • Do other countries not call it a nickel?
Nopes. You don't have nicknames for foreign currency denomination, do you?
  • image Wee yea erra chs hymmnos mea.
In Britain, American currency denominations are called as such: The pennyhorse, the Nicodemus, the shinytimes glorious, the 15 minuter, the youdothehokeycokeyandyouturnaround, and the hollaholla.

Canadian currency is nearly identical to American currency in naming conventions and denominations, so it's a valid question here. Same for Australia, actually, or really most other countries where dollars and nickel-plated five-cent pieces are a thing.

What's your favorite thing about Princess Alice?
  • “I'm surprised. Those clothes… but, aren't you…?”
I like your "girly roadgeek" aesthetic a lot, and you're one of the funnier people I know.

    ...was that too serious?

Thought: Tara Strong is probably the closest we'll ever get to a modern-day June Foray, in terms of sheer number of characters voiced.
  • image Wee yea erra chs hymmnos mea.
I mean, if you count other countries, a lot of the super-prolific seiyuu have around ~15 roles per year, so. :P

I have no idea how I would pronounce, "seiyuu".

The letter combination, "uu", is not in any single word I have heard. Heck, other than maybe being the last letter of one word and the first word in the next, I don't think I know of two-consecutive-instances-of-the-lowercase-letter,-"u", occuring at all in English.
  • Touch the cow. Do it now.
    mukyuu
  • My dreams exceed my real life
I think it can also be spelled Seiyu

    Different writing systems, of course
  • My dreams exceed my real life
On a purely aesthetic level, Korean is the most attractive writing system to me

More precisely, it would be seiyū. The same thing happens with ou, e.g. Tōhō.

But Tōhō does not exist. 😐

Also, uu is rare in English, because, well, W happened.

    I still say we need a triple-u.

We've got u, we've got its sequel w...why not complete the trilogy?
