It was a good series. Quite possibly my favorite as a child, behind Keys to the Kingdom (which I never actually finished) and Animorphs (which I only finished a few months ago)

People buying tickets does not guarantee they actually liked the movie that they watched, nor would I consider the opinions of literally everyone who bought a ticket as equal in the court of public opinion. Most people walked out of Jack and Jill more or less satisfied but I can reasonably call it "widely disliked"
