I did the music for a short dungeon crawler that I should receive the finished build of today. I'll ask the dev if I can host it on Dropcanvas or something similar so any interested parties can play it if they'd like.
The weird thing about Lilith--and what makes this nerf much less bad than it might otherwise be--is that Incubus has the exact same fire rate and damage that you would if you were shooting the tears yourself. Thus, I kinda feel like any unique opportunities for strategy are sort of lost. Cuz you can just win the same way you would otherwise, by getting a lot of damage.
hey, we could do games around here. maybe those hours spent trying to teach people Megamek won't have gone to waste, lol.
I probably will have trouble finding mechs that I like, though. It's another game focusing on early-era stuff, which means every 'mech is a Big Metal Guy instead of the cool clan-era stuff.
I have wanted to set up Megamek games so this would be great
I kid, but The Box Of Friends just got nerfed like literally half an hour ago.
And this is why GOG's rollback feature is useful, and why I've always argued that Steam should allow people to refuse updates and only prevent people from playing multiplayer on different versions, rather than use the multiplayer justification to force updates on all games including single-player ones.

Come on.
It's not like Binding of Isaac is about competitive play.
that's the drum I've been banging since Day 1 but if they didn't nerf the items people would complain twice as hard because something something balance.
Technically there are Daily Runs, but everyone has the same seed for those so it doesn't really matter.
Fans are clingy complaining dipshits who will never ever be grateful for any concession you make. The moment you shut out their shrill, tremulous voices the happier you will be for it.
Man is a most complex simple creature: see what he weaves, and how base his reasons for doing so.
I don't understand why a single player game needs nerfs, but I'm definitely not alone in this, and I'm sure it's a discussion nobody but me would like to have.
It sucks because it's rapidly becoming a sort of Phil Fish situation (ironic, given Judas' presence in the game) where everyone loves the picture but hates the painter.
TBF, Edward at least delivered his promised content, however imperfectly, unlike Phil Fish. He also hasn't done anything to deliberately stir the pot like Fish did.
He's likely to be able to recover from all this, whereas Fish is pretty much fucked at this point.

nobody actually paid for Fez 2, which is why people are upset in the first place.

Yeah, I can understand that.
I do admittedly find it a bit weird that he's trying to do a double delay like this. I would look the other way if it was him trying to cover up for adding content that he wasn't able to add before Afterbirth's release, but that doesn't seem to be what's going on here.
nah, the items had all the data there to be usable, they just had no pickup graphics and didn't spawn in any item pools. So this was planned from the start.
Another 20 are still locked away and will presumably be rolled out at a future date.
Honestly, there's no way around it: Ed and Nicalis screwed up big time. If they had just said "Sorry guys, due to a bug, some items are missing.", people would have still been mad, but it wouldn't have gotten to this point.
Instead, Ed and Tyrone decided to play Cryptic Asshole, and insult people who called them out on it,which they had literally no reason to do.
And to be frank, if this was a bug, it displays a startling amount of ineptitude. BoI's code has always been... interesting, but it's never gotten to the point of "a major chunk of the resource files don't exist." See also: The severity of the Azazel nerfs, which would have been instantly realised if anyone had actually played as Azazel before the patch was pushed.
really, i'm not surprised that someone who became famous making flash games about Deep Cartoon Abortions would be a Cryptic Asshole. at the same time, people seem very fastidious about this game for no reason. They're like, what, two people making some ridiculously popular shooter thing?

Except he's really not a cryptic asshole by default. And frankly whenever I've talked to you or seen you involved in BoI discussions you tend to come off as patronizing about the whole subject, and it makes me want to respond to you less and less on the subject. Like, Edmund doesn't play it up as Deep Cartoon Crap (that's some subset of the fans!), so much as the original BoIbeing a collection of his lifelong interests and part of his actual life.
Which reminds me of how I get annoyed whenever "edgelord" (a word I already loathe the usage of) or similar get brought up in relation to him, or games of a similar nature. It's just actively trying not to understand by being lololol same newgrounds edginess lololo.
And no, Rebirth has a full staffing. The original Binding of Isaac was made by Edmund for the art, Florian for the programming, and Danny Baranowsky for the music (also known for Super Meat Boy, and Crypt of the Necrodancer).

ah, so he is trying to cover up for not getting features done in time, then
Why wasn't he just upfront about that?
People would still be pissed off, but enough would understand to compensate for that.

there are other roguelike TDSs to spend your time on if you ever get fed up with the minutiae of Bortioning of Isaac's development
