You know, a hundred years ago, five-meter alligators were known and common, about the average length for an adult.

Nowadays, there is no such thing, and the five-meter alligator is regarded as a myth. Ten feet counts as big now.

For certain reptiles, size is a function of health. A human who is too big will have health problems and die. A turtle or alligator of great size is simply a thing of great health, and perhaps great age(not of genetics). Alligators do not have senescence. They do not run out of teeth.

OF course, the laws protect small alligators and not big ones. Any big one within a certain radius of human settlement is to be killed. Because apparently reducing the population to a fraction of what it was, and then waiting for the numbers to go back up to what they were, fixes everything; because genetic bottlenecks don't exist.

Oh, and "Swamp People" is still a thing.

the thing is that I cannot figure out how to make the levels be more than one screen big. And the overworld stuff doesn't seem to work at all.

There should be a thing that says "level boundry" [sic] which will allow you to stretch the size of the level.

As for overworld stuff, that is complexicated, I suggest making some levels first.

it's under "level properties" I think? You just choose a direction (top, bottom, etc.) and click in the editor window to expand the play field.
