  • I didn't even see that coming.

    That was very win, Aliroz.

i've never read any of his books.

Sometimes I don't think I like Looney Tunes enough

    Not Space Jam, though
  • I'm actually a pretty big Looney Tunes fan. I don't watch them (either the old cartoons or the new Looney Tunes Show) much anymore though, especially after the latter ended.

Yes, but the hackiest hackly hackedhack that ever hackly hackhacked a hackly hack's hacky black backpack, Jack.

    Pure hack, and glorious.

With unfortunately, some stuff of good writing and some legitimately harmful ideas, but mostly it's pure hack.

I don't really like Looney toons. But, that's me.

    They canned TLTS?

And then what, they kill some more, O Grim Reapers?
  • i think his brand of hackitude is the boring sort.
  • One of my dream careers is "low-stakes fantasy writer who makes enough to get by but is not wealthy", I don't know why this talk reminded me of that, but it did.

Also my cousin Devon won a bronze medal at his high school track meet today. I am relaying this because I just found out seconds ago.

I don't think they canned it, I think it just ran for the planned two seasons and they didn't see fit to renew it.
  • I've learned to tolerate drama...except on the boat
    Oh

Mystery Incorporated also ran for just two seasons

From what I can tell, Cartoon Network has an oddly strained relationship with Warner Bros. Animation because Time Warner is the fuck

Yeah, it is the kind of stuff I imagine you'd not like. Good thing not everyone is the same, that would be boring.

(By the way, I do appreciate the period at the end of that sentence. Thank you.)

  • Can we all agree that English would be a better--if even more confusing--language if we had the "ij" and "jj" things you see in Dutch.

I'd really like to be able to say "JJes" and have it be sensical.

Also I think I might have just like made up the word sensical? I'm not sure.
  • sensical is a word, IIRC it's a back-formation from nonsensical

i mean it entertained me as a kid and the premise is amusingly absurd, but it was always cheesy and flimsy and nonsensical

there are bunches of #90skids on tumblr who love it semi-ironically
I loved it as a kid and I'd probably only watch it now with enough alcohol.  Also Michael Jordan used to be cool, man, and as a Tar Heel I'll defend him.

But alcohol is terrible for you and it damages your liver and brain! Don't drink alcohol!
  • it probably damages your brain less than watching Space Jam sober.
  • imagei will watch the heck outta this pumpkin patch
i'm not 100% sure, but i believe alcohol is fine, even possibly healthy, when consumed in moderation.

Not that i consume it moderately.
  • I turn 21 next year and am likely going to spend an inordinately large amount of time between now and then debating whether or not I want to try alcohol, I will almost certainly settle on "no", because change is scary.

sensical is a word, IIRC it's a back-formation from nonsensical

Yeah I know it makes sense if it is a word, I just don't know if it's like, in dictionaries.

This is a silly thing to devote thought to.

I'm gonna play more Coin Crypt. That game is pretty good.

Sup bitches, witches, Haters, and trolls.
I usually consume it only in moderation and only with other people around.  My usually shitty diet is probably of greater concern.

As for alcohol, I'd say coke and rum is a good choice if you want to try something and you're not used to alcohol, since it tastes just slightly different from coke.  And having at least some experience with alcohol is good if you're in a situation where social drinking is common, just so you don't embarrass yourself.

    Wait, really?

Does that movie cause seizures or the like? I know sometimes animation can do that with flashing lights, like that one Pokémon episode.

    I never knew that.

(Thank you for the period. It places you above Anonus in my list of things that are good.)
  • I will never drink. Ever.
  • Sup bitches, witches, Haters, and trolls.
I think Yon Assassin was just saying that he thinks it's a really bad movie.  It won't cause epileptic seizures like the Porygon episode.
  • imagei will watch the heck outta this pumpkin patch
i can enjoy the occasional beer with a movie, but otherwise i only drink with friends.  It's when i drink with friends that i tend to drink rather a lot.

'Sensical' is in the OED, btw.  'Obs. rare. Sensible.' with citations from 1797 and 1839.

Are you eating feces? That's no good. At all. Like, that's Get Medical Help bad. Not "probably" a greater concern.

Yeesh, you guys and the things you put in your bodies.

(Neat, Pangur! We can be teetotal buddies! That's awesome!)
  • Sup bitches, witches, Haters, and trolls.
Nah, not feces, just too much fast food.
  • Aliroz, far be it from me to tell you what to do with your life, but aren't you a Mormon? You can't be a teetotaller.

    Oh, whew.

That's still not ideal, but at least fast-food does not spread those tapeworms that literally can bore holes through your brain.

    Him? What do you mean?

    I am a Mormon.
I thought Mormonism prohibited drinking caffeinated beverages.

"Teetotaller" implies that you drink a lot of coffee.

Oh, I didn't know Teetotal meant that.  In that case, nope, I can't be a teetotaler.
  • Teetotalism refers to either the practice of, or the promotion of, complete personal abstinence from alcoholic beverages.

i thought teetotaller merely implies that you abstain from alcohol, which is a requirement for Mormons.

No, it just means someone who doesn't drink alcohol.

    you have been misinformed.

To drink beer in Utah you must simply prove you are not a Mormon.

Then you must fight Shal-ulgurthu the Snake Lord of The Mesa in single combat
