  • Yarrun did the thing I suggested for stem-creation work.

Also, I don't feel too well all the sudden. I may have had too much sugar today. :/

    How did you...

I mean, I am, but how did you know that?

    Not pathetic.

    who obsesses over transportation minutia

    Not pathetic

This would only be pathetic if it wasn't so clear that there were extenuating circumstances.

You're a twentysomething; this isn't unusual. It's not ideal, but it's not pathetic.

    and also I'm fat

and watch cartoons as a hobby,

    Not pathetic.

plus twice in the past year I've gotten in needless confrontations with security because I raged over there mere existence

    Unfortunate, but not pathetic.

    I'd say the opposite, tbh.

So I, for one, am fascinated and amused when artworks deal with philosophical concepts, even if they don't have the best grasp of them.

This seems to send everyone else into paroxysms of rage, though.

  • Centie: I disagree! It's not like you're unwilling to work--you did have a job previously after all--and you're going to college and otherwise trying to improve. Even if it's slow, you're making progress, which isn't pathetic at all. (And hey, it's not like people can't have hobbies, right?)

    Aww, thanks...

I'll admit, the only reason I haven't been applying to jobs over these past few weeks is that, well, I don't have any way to get anywhere, and I figure there's no point in applying for jobs until the car can be fixed...

    Feel better soon!
  • I'm not actually gonna go to bed A) because I'm not that sensible and B) because I wanna get started on this Yarrun remix, but I'm saying I probably should.

For a second I thought the B) was to indicate you were really confident about getting started on the Yarrun remix.
  • Well, I am confident that I want to do it.

There's not one part of that that's not pathetic

Being autistic is not pathetic, and I will get ticked if you continue to imply that it is. Temple Grandin is not pathetic. Also, being transexual is not pathetic, and if you continue to act like it is then I will have to call you a bigot. It is okay to be fat so long as you aren't in such a state as to have it be unhealthy. Being skinny can be a problem just as being fat can. Neither is necessarily better, because taken too far they are both unhealthy. So long as you're healthy, there's nothing to be ashamed of (or, at least, nothing to be ashamed of any more than a skinny person has to be ashamed of being skinny.). It's okay to have a hobby that doesn't have a practical purpose or accomplish anything. Hobbies are supposed to be carefree and fun, and the point of them is to be enjoyed, not to accomplish something. Also, not having a car is not pathetic. It's stupid to have your sense of self-worth based in ownership of something material. Reading children's books is not pathetic any more than enjoying simple pleasures like jump rope and hopscotch are pathetic. Oh, your economic situation makes it impossible for you to buy a house. That totally makes you a terrible person and is not at all normal and not at all a thing that applies to loads of people.

Oh, you have interests other people don't share. Horrifying.

Oh, you lack employment. That totally makes you a terrible person. You are LITERALLY SEVEN HITLERS.

Most of these seem to be based in age, and you know what? There is such a thing as being young for your age. It's when your bone structures and growth plate are of a younger biological age than your chronological age. When I was twelve I had a seven year old's growth plate and bone structure. Chronological age doesn't mean all that much, really. It's mental, emotional, and physical age that matter. And getting mad at yourself for being childish when your chronological age indicates you should be older is like getting mad at me for being short when my chronological age indicates I should be taller.

To do so is unrealistic, and, frankly, quite offensive.

Existence is a process of making a fool of yourself. Do you blame a baby for being incontinent, inarticulate, helpless, and smelly? We all started out as dorks. Dork is the base template.

Being a dork sonetimes is the default setting. Nobody expects you to be completely composed and wise all the time.

We all cry, we all trip and fall, we all say the wrong thing or are not on top of the situation sometimes. Embarrassment is part of life, it happens to everyone.

There's not one part of that that's not pathetic
And I am gross and ugly and boring and depressive and cynical and autistic and stick around even when everyone is thinking "I wish that weirdo would go away" because there are voids to fill and aspiring postmodern writers to cling to. If nothing else, I am probably more pathetic than you are.

oh hey i still have the cover for that which i did... back whenever that was released. its in my folder of old shit from my old laptop, so before i got my new laptop, definitely, so before i went off to university, so probably early 2011? or even late 2010?

Okay, as for "gross": which of the two of us has mold/moss growing on her/his tongue? Which of the two of us hates hygiene and showering?

Also, you can't magically stop being depressive any more than I can magically stop having panic attacks when exposed to too much noise and overstimulation. Brain chemistry is not something to be ashamed of, it isn't your fault. For autistic, see my reply to central.

As for ugly: tongue. Moss. You do not have it.

(Anyone without tongue mold is beautiful.)

As for cynical: brain chemistry. Automatic negative thoughts from the amygdala.

As for sticking around when other people want you to leave: when did anyone say he/she wanted you to leave?

    that is indeed the cover.

I don't have the actual album anymore though. *shrug*
  • i dont think i ever actually heard the album

i also think i could probably improve that cover if i hadnt covered it in random semi transparent circles but ah well
  • in unrelated news i accidentally dropped a small piece of garlic into my glass of red wine and it actually owns that the wine is sort of garlicy, i recommend you try this with a nice bordeaux and horrify everyone
  • i checked the data on that album cover and it has dated it to 10th October 2010, so i was 17. shit that was a long time ago
  • me being 17 when i made it also explains why i thought it was a good idea to cover the image in small semi transparent circles

Sorry, can't. It's against my religion to drink anything alcoholic, caffeinated, or carbonated (okay, once every ten years I can have root beer).
  • me creating the cover for Mojave Music Album That No Longer Exists is clearly the more culturally important event of that day, imo.
