  • willingly switching back to stock makes you a stronger person than I, CA

I don't think I could ever stick with a vanilla bean phone/iPod/literally anything without the name PlayStation because I feel like I'm limiting their potential

and as for the PlayStation line, that's good enough on stock anyway

    re:writer's block

i think people use the term because it sounds better than saying 'i can't write' which is all it really means

it's more useful to consider *why* you feel blocked - lack of ideas?  lack of motivation?  lack of technical ability?  - and then work on fixing that specific problem/set of problems

and really the best thing to do if you can't write is to write anyway, even if you know it's going to be bollocks
  • Sometimes I wonder who uses the software that comes on that CD you inevitably get with every digital camera.

Copying pictures from the SD card is as simple as dragging and dropping them in Windows Explorer, why would I want some proprietary Fuji/Nikon/Canon software to transfer my pictures?
perhaps it's for people who are afraid of the Windows shell

That is, if those people exist

Part of it is that there's really not much I want to do with a phone that I can't do out of the box

As long as I can use the web and use some silly apps and games, I'm good, y'know?

It's a turn of phrase, and I really hate it when people make turns of phrase out to mean something they don't.

No one actually things writer's block is some kind of gremlin that prevents you from having good ideas, and the author of that comic seems to basically be implying that only people who are bad at writing get it.

also knowing some of the other things K.C. Green has written i wouldn't be surprised if he was partly poking fun of himself with that one

idk, i thought it was funny *shrug*

is it though? It just seems kind of meanspirited to me, and it's not like there aren't comics that are basically just meanspirited and nothing else.

Granted I do not know where that one is from.

  • I honestly don't feel comfortable getting a phone without a job to pay for a plan, hence my unphoneness.
  • imagei will watch the heck outta this pumpkin patch
surely not having a phone makes it harder to look for a job?
  • not really, there is a phone in the house, and most application processes are done entirely via email...

Some of my main reasons for using CyanogenMod on all my Android devices are maximising performance and a fear of bloatware. Fear of bloatware is also why I avoid buying phones directly from carriers.

I had CyanogenMod on my Nexus 7 for a while and I quite liked it, but I switched back to stock so I could get KitKat as soon as it was released. After all, one of the perks of owning a Nexus device is that you get new Android releases before all those other manufacturers' devices! :P

Sprint is actually pretty decent when it comes to bloatware. There are one or two things I want to uninstall, but I'll just take care of those once I root my phone, which I plan to do eventually. (In the meantime I can't be bothered, since I'm not going to run out of disk space anytime soon.)
  • I am not sure how I'm gonna be able to get people all the presents I want to get them

Like, I have Vash's present picked out, it's 40 bucks, and i want to get my mom a nice keyboard which will be like 70-100 bucks, and together that's pushing it....

    I kinda liked it.

On the other hand, writers block is just sort of something I hit when I can't get a sentence or line to work, and I eventually just delete the idea and try something else and K.C. Green can pretty much write and draw whatever the hell he feels like without so much concern for how people would react or if he's even really telling a joke or not.

So, I can see how it's sort of mean spirited.

WE'RE GETTING THE BAND BACK TOGETHER.

I should do more My Little Pony: Friendship is Magical Bullshit, Flanderized, Mary-Sue, Color Adventures.

I have like two stories that still need to be finished and Pinkie Pie and Surprise opened a hole in time and space so Surprise could watch cleanly supply mascots go at it like BDSM rabbits in heat.

Or I should just make up some more random bullshit that doesn't take so long to create...

    Just being diplomatic.

    I liked that one, honestly.

Somehow it made referencing Family Circus funny, for one.
