It was just recently reported this week that a woman in North Korea was executed because she publicly stated (for the world to hear) quite correctly that their nation is suffering and people and children dying wholesale because their entire state is a failure. This isn't quite as earth-shattering and outrage-inducing as a song about boobs, I know, but let's maintain a little perspective here

Exactly. People go out of their way to be outraged for unworthy reasons (like this one) when there's already more valid reasons in this world than we can count. Pretty sure nobody is dead or damaged from Seth's stupid song, but people die everyday around the world for simply speaking the truth.

Also rape trivialization doesn't even come close to filling the same niche as the NK example you posted, and it's not like tumblrites could make a difference posting about either, so I'd say it actually makes more sense that they focus on Seth MacFarlane.

They keep inviting guys like him and those other guys from south park and then wonder why they go up on stage and do something tasteless -- which is what the public at large and Hollywood encourages them to do all the time anyway. Those types shit in their own bed and then don't want to sleep in it.

The only way that song can trivialize rape is if the audience lets it do so. Even if I did see or hear Seth's song from last night, it wouldn't change mine or anyone else's perception of what I know of the crime of rape.
