My phone charger is OK, I guess, though I had to swap out the USB cable because the little clippy pin things on the one included with it stopped sticking in the phone, causing it to come loose every time it was touched.

... That's what I get for trying to post at 5 AM at night. I probably conflated it with "dizzy my future, silly my way" from The Pillows' song Runners High. Mea culpa.

You ever notice that nearly every "document" icon in modern software depicts a piece of paper with the top-right corner folded over?
I wonder where that convention came from. Folding corners like that isn't something people do in real life, so why did some designer long ago add it into a computer icon?

I'd thought of that, but isn't that something you generally do in a book? It doesn't seem like it would make much sense to do with an individual sheet of paper.
My only other thought was that it was a quick way to visually suggest that it is, in fact, a representation of a three-dimensional sheet of paper, and not just a rectangle drawn on a computer screen.

This is actually the one I was ranting about a few weeks back.
It's a special red-yellow-red setup because it faces a driveway adjacent to a fire station. Most of the time it rests with the bottom red flashing, basically equivalent to a stop sign. When a fire truck or ambulance has to pull out, though, it goes to solid red to keep people from entering the main road in the path of the emergency vehicle.
The main road has similar signals, but with flashing yellow on the bottom:

You weren't. I just thought it was a funny picture.
Y'all keep taking my "what's wrong with this picture" as a literal question instead of a joke... >_>

Heh, it took me like a whole two minutes to get that shot because I kept catching it with no bulbs lit. Taking pictures of flashing lights is a pain. -_-

...you know, my camera actually has a feature like that, but it never occurred to me to use it on flashing lights.
This reminds me: I have to look up when French adopted the guttural r. According to modern reconstructions, Old French used a trilled/tapped r like in Italian and Occitan, but it seems to have shifted to a throatier Germanic r at some point.
