Also, I did some checking and the screen on my new phone is 341 ppi. I remember when printers could do maybe half that, and only with a lot of coaxing (my old ImageWriter II is 144 dpi in HQ mode, and Epson-compatible 9-pin printers could do 240x216 dpi if you were willing to invest the ribbon wear).

My grandmother worked at Kmart for most of my childhood. As part of her uniform she wore these buttons advertising VHS movies that were on sale.
She would always bring the buttons to me when she was done with them. I had a ton of them (albeit with many duplicates). Most of them were animated Disney movies, which i loved, but there were "grown-up" movies thrown in, too...I think I remember a Mission Impossible one? And I got too many to keep track of, so my mother hung up a piece of red fabric in my closet and we pinned them all up there.
I don't have them anymore. I wish I did...I wonder what happened to them.

I seem to recall that the last Kmart store Grandma worked at was the huge one in Gahanna, which is no longer there. It closed after the 2002 bankruptcy and was later knocked down to build a Kroger Marketplace.
Also, strictly speaking, I owe my entire existence to Kmart, as my parents met there. They were both working as cashiers at the time, IIRC.

...I don't know. I've never really asked much about the details of how they got together. I just know they were both working at Kmart at the time and my mother was apparently great at her job while my dad was lucky not to get fired.
