  • I'm old enough to get my permit where I live but after I got into that bad car accident with my sister I don't really want it.

Right now I'm just waiting until I absolutely have to drive myself places.
  • Well, that explains the headache.

Speaking of which, I drove something with a manual transmission for the first time a few days ago.

...Sweet monkey Jesus, is it scary.

I have a driver's license and I still don't know how to drive a manual transmission. I just never bothered to learn...
  • The fact that the seats were a good 3 feet higher than the automatic car I usually drive did not help at all.

  • Touch the cow. Do it now.
I've been driving for over 10 years and have never driven a manual transmission.

It's a type of car where you have to switch the gears yourself.

Also, your new nickname is "Lumey", but don't be surprised if I call you "Lumia" on accident. :P
  • Touch the cow. Do it now.
What do you all think of the name VanderSloot
  • ...It's weird, but I guess it would become less so if you used it.

Maybe it'd just be something to get used to.
  • Imi: I kinda like it. Reminds me of a name that would have been in a childhood book I read.

Apparently in some countries if you take your driving test in an automatic, your license specifically limits you to driving cars with automatic transmissions.

That's bizarre to me, for some reason.
  • Touch the cow. Do it now.
I saw that name on a paper today...name of the CEO of some company or other.

I wouldn't want it attached to myself, but I might use it for a character.
  • It seems like a good character name.

jfkdjdi Stupid take home test. D:

    > take home test

    I'm so sorry.
  • Remember back in the 50s when they'd record like Elvis singing YOU AIN'T NOTHIN BUT A HOUND DOG and then they'd turn the record over and reverse it and it was all NYERP NYERP NYERP NYERP NYERP and people were all like, "That is actually the voice of Satan coming from that song."
I leave for twenty minutes and squid has turned into a Megaman X character. What is this madness?
  • CA: At least I can use my material. It's just tedious as hell.

^^ Yet another example of "I leave for ten minutes and the Trash Heap is a soap opera." disorder.

As if we didn't have enough of those.
  • ^Makes me nostalgic for when I wrote up two character lists of all the regular heapers as soap opera characters. So silly and took me forever.
  • Touch the cow. Do it now.
    GABRIEL IMIPOLINE

I considered that as a name change. Really did.

I remember that, JZ. It was awesome.
  • ^^That would be fabulous. Though, from the looks of Google, you'd be the first Imipoline.
  • Touch the cow. Do it now.
    It's a trampoline made of Imipolex G.
  • That sounds....like it would be a bad idea.
  • Touch the cow. Do it now.
You'd become...aroused...just by jumping on it...

Ahem. Must think of better name

Maybe I should go back there some time (ed: to #yackfest, not Hazzard County).  I dislike IRC, though I'm not entirely sure why.

At least for me, I dislike IRC at times because some days I can jump right into a conversation, but other times I'll be lurking for 3 hours and have nothing to add to a conversation. Granted, that's more or less my experience with most forums, but still....

Oh god, I'm the same way. I find IRC very hit-or-miss in that respect.

I used to just blab about whatever I felt like talking about anyway, but that got me bitched at so no. Tzetze usually provides interesting stuff to talk about, though.

I'm curious about what #trashheap is like, but at the same time, I do have the same concerns namelesssamurai and CA have. I tend to hang back if there's nothing I have to add to a conversation. This makes me feel a little guilty sometimes, like I'm not participating as much as I should, even though I know it's better than awkwardly trying to churn out something to say for the sake of saying it.

Plus, I don't have Esper's chat program on my computer, and I don't know how much it would cost or if I have the requirements for it.

#trashheap doesn't get much use, honestly. When I'm there it's usually just me and Tzetze, and we tend to talk in #yackfest instead.

@Gator: Esper is free, just point an IRC client to irc.esper.net. If you don't have an IRC client, you can use the Mibbit link.

I managed to get there through Esper's website, but I'll keep that link in mind for future reference. Thanks!

I love how this song is from the car's point of veiw. Makes it sound like a badass action hero from down south.

Glad to see I'm not alone in that.

I don't really talk much period. Even being chatty from my standards is pretty quiet for other people.

I've wanted to "revive" #trashheap for a while now, but I never really did anything with it. I guess now that I'm on summer break I'll have shitloads of time to waste though...
