Use "Future Fusion" late-game to return up to 3 "Gem-Knight Lazuli" to the Graveyard to get up to 3 Normal Monsters from your Graveyard to your hand. This works with the limbs of "Exodia the Forbidden One".

So I guess Gem-Knight Lazuli isn't as worthless as I thought she was (still adorable, though).

Well. If they ever decide to relase Lazuli and Obsidian overseas, I might actually buy them and try making a competitive deck again.

We have general guidelines to follow so nobody's cards overpower another, so it's fair game all the time. It's more about "Hey wouldn't this be awesome?" "yeah, make it and we'll try it out".

And it is fun.

The Castle of Dark Illusions is awesome because you can drop it on your opponent's monsters and they won't be able to escape for some bullshit reason.

It's because of the Yellow Luster Shield's secret effect: "If a face-up "Castle of Dark Illusions" has it's Floatation Ring destroyed while this card is face-up, all monsters you control are destroyed and you take damage equal to the ATK and DEF of the destroyed monsters."

and Catapult Turtle's secret effect. "When you offer a monster on your side of the field as a Tribute, you can target a specific part of the card's artwork and destroy it."

The anime version was supposed to be a fantasy strategy game with monsters, as opposed to a written-rules card game. Thus why Destroying the Moon, fusing spell cards and mammoths together to rot dragons, using the reflections of sexy harpy armor to blind monsters, making monsters fall in love, firing dragon champions at floatation rings, and using a monster's honor as a shield are valid tactics.

Viani: Well, "Ancient Summons"' art comes from a book cover I found on Cracked. For Summoning Circle I think I just googled "mystic circle" or something.

Most of the card arts are from danbooru. Hence why some of my humans suspiciously resemble touhou characters.

if you're interested, here's the full set thusfar. Be warned, contains: clunky rulestext, overly elaborate effects, bad art, and weird flavortext

There's a meta-plot in there too, but you can probably connect the dots there on your own if you're so inclined.

anyway, Gagaga Girl is one of the Gagaga archetype monsters. Also known as the ridiculous syllable repetition squad.

Since the picture is still borked, the Gagaga archetype is thematically somewhat similar to the Dark Magician family from the original series. It is also not the only series of monsters that has a lot of the same syllable. See "Gogiga Gagagigo."

Today, I learned about the Gladiator Beast archetype. I'm not even into gladiator movies that much and holy cow that is awesome! I even made my second deck around it. Though from what I've read on the wiki, it does have a fatal weakness. Oh, well.

Gladiator Beasts are a bit of an odd archetype.

But they're pretty good, yeah.

I think I'm going to make a Gusto deck. I'm not great with passive decks so it'll be a bit of a challenge. Not to mention, it's thematically appropriate, as the Gusto Tribe are allies with the Gem-Knights.

Hmm. Looks pretty cool. Oddly, a lot of the cards look like people you'd see on the other side of a duel arena on the show.

Also, I got around to replacing the less practical super-retro cards from version 1 of my gator deck. Though I remember one of their replacements, namely Mystical Space Typhoon, being in my Joey and Pegasus starter decks, so wouldn't it also be retro?
