I misunderstood what it does, never mind. That said, what's the point of "cannot be special summoned"? Why would you special summon this thing anyway when it would be 0/0?
Most MTG cards with keywords have reminder text unless the ability is evergreen (first strike, flying, trample), or the card is of a high rarity.
You get two tokens on your side of the field, your opponent gets Grinder Golem.
You play Creature swap, flipping control of one of the tokens and Grinder Golem, now you have a very good monster on the first turn, and your opponent has a token.
Of course, that can backfire as there are a lot of things you can do with a generic token.
Remember back in the 50s when they'd record like Elvis singing YOU AIN'T NOTHIN BUT A HOUND DOG and then they'd turn the record over and reverse it and it was all NYERP NYERP NYERP NYERP NYERP and people were all like, "That is actually the voice of Satan coming from that song."
I have finished my first Duel Network deck. It took a bit longer than I expected, but I'm ready to see how well (or perhaps poorly) it can do.

Lazuli: Sounds like a plan.
I looked up that card on the wiki, and only then did I realize that was the giant rocket train card's actual name. I thought that was just a nickname we came up with for it.

Nope, but they have a few new toys, kind of. Eclipse Drake/Wyvern or whatever it's called, when sent to the Graveyard, allows you to banish a Level 7 or higher DARK/LIGHT Dragon (aka, Judgment Dragon) from your deck. Since Lightsworn regularly mill monsters, this is easy.
If you can banish Eclipse Wyvern while it's in the GY, either by Soul Release, summoning Chaos Sorcerer, or some other WITCHCRAFT, you can add JD to your hand and proceed to kill everything.
Has anyone tried a Semi-Traditional format (aka, 1 banned card becomes Limited instead for your game)?

And I only have half an hour before I fall asleep, so I won't be available until tomorrow.
But I can definitely see the appeal of the Gem Knights now. Lazuli Globe was awesome with them.
Stuff in Yu-Gi-Oh seems to be getting banned/restricted constantly, though. Jace and Stoneforge Mystic were the only Standard bannings since affinity, I believe.
Wizards never printed DAD. Chaos Emperor Dragon, Trishula, Goyo Guardian, Yata-Garasu, Dark Magician of Chaos, Fiber Jar, and Tsukuyomi.
Stuff in Yu-Gi-Oh seems to be getting banned/restricted constantly, though
The banlist is a measure that is used by Konami to restrict and funnel sales towards new sets, to cycle out "last season" strategies to get people to buy the new cards that are out, thus why some of the bans recently seem very out-of-place. Kind of like Standard or whatever in MTG, except, more harsh.
It's still an amazing game, but if you want to devote yourself to IRL Tier 1 World Series tournaments, you better have a lot of money and tolerance for Executive Capitalism Bullshit.
There's no good reason Substitoad should've been banned beyond "it enabled entirely too many OTK combos". It's not like people were rushing out in droves to buy Des Frogs.
Of course, these kinds of arguments are why I don't play competitively anymore. Waaaay too much bullshit over what is and isn't broken, underpowered, nerfed, whatever. It's like MtG, but half the players are 12.
And in the end, it is a children's card game. The tournaments and stuff are superfluous to the goal of selling stuff.
Also! Random-ass note. Anyone remember the guy who got into the top 30 with a Gradius deck? I read about it awhile ago.
Konami doesn't have playtesters, (unless you consider the people at Konami who get to play around with the cards first playtesters)They just a review board in Japan that communicates with Kazuki Takahashi and a couple of directors to decide what the effect should be, how it compares to the Anime portrayal and how they should market it rarity-wise.

It's possible to special summon and tribute in a few cases.
Also, there are cases where you might want a 0/0 monster.
My fave opener.
it's clearly a machine
Also, that's all kinds of bizarre. How exactly do you make it work?

*Special Summon
*Cast Creature Swap, your opponent is forced to give you the golem for a token
*Attack the token with the golem for 3000
So, your opponent is out 3000, you have a huge beatstick
...you...you can't attack on the first turn. :|
at least not if you're going first.
And if you're going second, your opponent could well have another monster on the field to switch control of the token for.
You can use the golem first turn that way too, but your opponent has the oppritunity to get it into defense position, so you
I see.
Of course all this assumes that you draw those three cards out of a deck of at least 40.
Or you lay some sort of trap for when he attacks with the golem.
The trick is to use cards that can combo, yet stand alone, or combo together in different ways.
Like I could use Creature Swap, sacrifice the creature they gave me for a Monarch, then use Owner's Seal.
Gator: You caught me at a poor time. I'm in the middle of dueling someone.
But I'll be with you as soon as we're doen.
*Next turn: opponent attacks a token with the golem, Magic Cylinder for 3000
*I move the tokens into defense position, set Marshmallon
That's up to half their life, when they attack Marshmallon that is.
>putting Marshmallon and Grinder Golem in the same deck.
You monster.
Like that time that 6th grader stole their mittens before recess.
Correction: Cards in YuGiOh have amazing names.

Casual.
Casual as fuck.
The people in the ranked matches are insane if first-hand accounts can be believed.
Furthermore, I just don't care about rankings too much. I go with the middle column. Observing the banlist but still playing for fun.
That said, I'm not up for a duel at this very moment. I'm going to eat first.
