You are the end result of a “would you push the button” prompt where the prompt was “you have unlimited godlike powers but you appear to all and sundry to be an impetuous child” – Zero, 2022
Peridot gives me vibes of being young and naive.
I guess if she's only 4 that would put her below Steven, though things get tricky when Steven's involved because by human standards he's still a kid

Don't feel bad! You got to it in the end, that's what matters.
As Peridot is now, I think her weapon would be a wrench or something. But she probably won't learn to summon her weapon until she's gone through some character development, so it might end up being something completely different. (And I think the limb enhancers were literally compensating for something--she's physically really weak compared to the other gems, even Steven. The limb enhancers and the team's lack of coordination were the only things that put them on the same level when they fought.)
I've learned to tolerate drama...except on the boat
Her weapon being a wrench would make sense but I'm wondering if she has one at all...
You know it took me until thinking about how Peridots are probably bred for their brains and not their brawn to realize that the caste system and the way gems are bred is actually really creepy
I wonder if Peridot's weapon will turn out to be something really out of left field yet nevertheless impressively dangerous. Like the Gem equivalent to the Noisy Cricket.
also the circa 2001 Cartoon Network logo (that has somehow been updated for HD) at the end of the show is a semi-painful reminder of days gone by
i'm so fucking whiny
I'll admit, this rubbed me the wrong way a little when you originally posted it, but I wouldn't say it's necessarily too whiny as you just kinda still had that "using SU as a thing to lament the loss of the CN of old" hurdle to get over. I'm glad you're recognizing that, though.
I personally really like the modernized version of the logo, it's a nice way of reflecting on the past without reusing it wholesale. (It's also much more visually interesting than the one they originally switched to for CNS in 2010.)
Oh, yeah, that one! It still shows up on all of their stuff when one isn't watching the network itself or a video ripped from the feed.
Could possibly be a nice nod to the Cartoon Cartoon era, though it seems like they mostly keep it around for trademark purposes these days. (It still lives on at the bottom of the CN site, too, tucked in with the "Made in Georgia" and TV-PG stickers.)

That makes sense!
Also, I posted some about it in my own personal thread and will move it here from now on: Centie and I have been rewatching the series from the beginning
I think the first really strong episode was "Tiger Millionaire", which manages to come off as both a "fun" episode AND dips its toes into Amethyst's feelings of inferiority
That seems to be a popular pick for first good episode.
The show definitely got better over time, but i feel weird for thinking that even early on, the show was something pretty unusual and pretty great.
i enjoyed Tiger Millionaire but i don't think that after watching it i was under the impression that i had just watched something exceptional relative to those preceding it.

I first saw it the day it aired, well, the last couple minutes of it because CN was on
It is the greatest introduction to any show ever! Though I had no idea what any of it meant! (Of course it took me ages to actually get on board because mental issues and shit)

this reminds me eerily of how I saw a promo for Gravity Falls shortly before it premiered and forgot to tell Centie that Mabel (whose name I didn't know at the time) looked a lot like my mental image of her cartoon-sona "Calcium"
