I was thinking about Google Street View and how being one of their drivers would be a dream job for me: driving around all sorts of roads all across the country, seeing all these places most people don't even drive...but of course I can't get a job for Google because I don't live anywhere near any of the cities Google has offices in.
It's yet another reason I feel worthless for not living somewhere culturally significant, like California or New York City.
Worse feel in the world: When someone's sole presence makes you want to punch someone, but apparently, everyone else you like hanging out is OK with said person being there. In your presence.
So the situation is somebody you hate adamantly is hanging around and everyone is like "don't hate on [person] they are actually pretty cool" and you are like ">implying that I like them" or whatever (I don't know if you use implying in real life but I assume you would because juan)
geez, i don't use implying that much. I only do it because I know it bothers you. :D
but whatever. I'm not very vocal around my dislike of the person simply because there's no point in doing so. It won't make him go away cuz everyone else I hang around with can bear with him and likes them. I just avoid commenting on his asshattery whenever I can. --shrug--
It's bearable, but at times it decides to steal a prefix and become unbearable.

I live in a place that's kind of culturally relevant, but in kind of a back-burner, love-it-or-hate-it kind of way. (it seems that if you're a kid or a history buff, DC and environs would be a helluva field trip, but if you're one of the grumpy separatist types who thinks the capital should be in Kansas City or something, you're required to badmouth it or something.)

Not really. In fact it's not even officially a "network" anymore, it's a mere "programming service" (basically a long term for "block"). In all irony, it has become an effortless PTEN (Prime Time Entertainment Network), except without The WB and UPN coming along to eat away at what little momentum it had.

It's interesting how hard it is for new networks to break in. NBC, ABC, and CBS almost seem to form a kind of impenetrable wall.
CA: They also had a head start decades long. (FOX also had Metromedia's grunt behind it in the beginning.)
What's funny about PTEN and The WB is that they were two divisions of WBE (Lorimar-Telepictures and WBTV) competing with each other. I'm sure that rankled some middle manager somewhere in Burbank.
