This Fire Season I decided to try knocking on Humakt's door. Even if we'll be primarily defensive, it's good to have him on our side.
Luckily I got something.
Also Korlmar is back. Then RAID
The Horse Nomads are raiders. I decided to sacrifice to Orlanth and maneuver around them, as well as spend one point of magic.
Good thing we got those Weaponthanes, because we just lost four of them. Now I'm gonna sacrifice to Chalana Arroy to heal some of our guys in time for Earth Season. She healed 19 of our wounded. Then this happened
Tarkala(Uralda Chieftain): Look at their shape. Those bones will grow to carry great amounts of meat(raise them, she says)
Korlmar(Issaries): These creatures are a novelty at the very least. Perhaps they are valuable.(He says try to trade them)
Arnbord(Uroxi Warleader): These creatures are called Earthshakers and are holy to Ernalda's sister, Maran Gor(he says sacrifice to Ernalda)
Perandal(Lhankor Mhy Lawspeaker): These things could be connected to Dragons
Ernaldess(Ernalda): How big do you think these things get? How much pasture land will they require?
Aski(Barntar): Look at their teeth. They eat plants, just like cows(using this impeccable logic, Aski says sacrifice to Uralda)
Orlgandi(Trickster): It is hard to see how we benefit either way.
Yelm and Orlanth technically made peace during the Lightbringers Quest, but relations between Yelm worshippers and Orlanthi have never been good. Apparently Yelm worshippers can't get over us killing their God, ending the stagnant period they falsely refer to as the Golden Age, and poaching gods like Chalana Arroy and Elmal from the Fire Pantheon to join the Storm Pantheon.
I mean, Orlanth said he was sorry when he made peace with Yelm in the underworld, what more do they WANT from us.
The Lysangs tried to cattle raid us. I'm gonna try to capture some, and put some magic into it.
We have a captive. I'll ransom him because we don't keep thralls and we can get some Goods from it. We got 5 cows worth of goods.
This Earth Season I sent out a Caravan to the Orlmarth to get a trading route going.
I sacrifice to Uralda, because why not, we have an Uraldi priestess as the chief.
Kinda bad news, but oh well. THEN DUCK ATTACK
Tarkala(Uralda Chieftain): If I were asked to turn over several of my people to another clan's justice, I would not like it.
Korlmar(Issaries): A barn is worth sixteen Bushels of grain.(He wants us to demand compensation)
Arnbord(Uroxi Warleader): Red feathers flew over the home of Uralda's children. White feathers must give silver eggs in return.(Demand compensation from Longtail or increase tribute.)
Perandal(Lhankor Mhy Lawspeaker): I can cite precedents that alow the offending ducks to be turned over to us. Once honored, we can show mercy.(He wants us to order Longtail to deliver the arsonists.)
Ernaldess(Ernalda): Our fields need attention. A couple of steads are not worth losing our crops over.(Get compensation, demand punishment, or increase tribute)
Aski(Barntar): Remember the ducks are Orlanthi too. Not as Orlanthi as we are, but still.(Demand compensation)
ONCE AGAIN I try to learn Curing from Chalana Arroy.
I think she might hate us.
Whatever, let's knock on Ernalda's door.
We learned a heroquest!
Tarkala(Uralda Chieftain): The Carls are upset with the havoc the beasts are causing.(slaughter them)
Korlmar(Issaries): No point in trying to trade them now, when we don't quite know what to do with them.
Arnbord(Uroxi Warleader): I just remembered-these Earthshaker creatures are powerful wards against chaos. During the Darkness, they helped Maran Gor fight Wakboth the Devil.
Perandal(Lhankor Mhy Lawspeaker): Wouldn't it be something if we could train them as battle mounts? Imagine the effect on our foes!(You know what he wants)
Ernaldess(Ernalda): If our resident herder won't mention it, I will; These things are eating as much as 3 cows. And they haven't stopped growing!.
Aski(Barntar): I don't know whether we can train these things or not.
Orlgandi(Trickster): If we eat them, our fertility problems will be solved. Forever.(He says slaughter.)
I'm gonna sacrifice to Uralda again. I really want her Calf Blessing.
This heroquest is a nightmare. I have never succeeded at this heroquest.
Anyway, the farmers are feeling a bit down, so I decided to give them gifts.
Good 2 know
This sacred time, I put points in Herds, Trade, Mysteries, Crops, and Diplomacy.I put two points in Mystery because we had some extra.
Because of that prophecy, I sent out explorers to the far northwest. Let's hope they come back.
Tarkala(Uralda Chieftain): Our relation with the Vostangi is strained. A show of generosity might stave off trouble with them.(Accept his offer, gift him the bull, or offer stud services.)
Korlmar(Issaries): He doesn't just want Blacktail. He needs Blacktail. He could do something bad if we refuse him.(Gift, stud, or sell him for 40 goods)
Arnbord(Uroxi Warleader): Blacktail is extremely fertile. We might have fewer strong calves without him.(Stud, refuse, or sell him for 40 Goods.)
Perandal(Lhankor Mhy Lawspeaker): There is no shame in keeping something good.(Refuse to sell, or offer stud services)
Ernaldess(Ernalda): Same as Arnbord
Aski(Barntar): The members of the Vostangi know we are friends. We needn't give away our best bull just to please them further.(Refuse to sell, offer stud, or sell him for 40 goods)
Orlgandi(Trickster): Whatever happens, we haven't seen the last of Mordrim. I can feel it in my bones.
I recruited a few Weaponthanes for the defense this Fire Season.
Tarkala(Uralda Chieftain): It would be good if others thought them villains and sided with us.(Compose a villain poem)
Korlmar(Issaries): They'll be insulted if we offer them less than 25 cows(Give a gift)
Arnbord(Uroxi Warleader): The people are worried, though they need not be: We are stronger than the Vostangi(Make them out to be fools)
Perandal(Lhankor Mhy Lawspeaker): It is easier to compose a hateful poem than an amusing one. Harder still to turn hard hearts soft(compose a poem)
Ernaldess(Ernalda): If they feud with us, we will lose a few cows. If we make peace with them, we will lose many cows(Apologize, or compose a poem praising thier honor
Aski(Barntar): We must make others see that the Vostangi are villains, and that this feud is not our fault(Compose a poem portraying them as villains)
Orlgandi(Trickster): They are so haughty; it will be hilarious to humiliate them.(Portray them as fools)
I'm gonna FINALLY cure some of our sick with Curing.
THANK YOU
Tarkala(Uralda Chieftain): We should curry favor with another clan by telling them of this opportunity to harass their foes.(Tell another clan)
Korlmar(Issaries): He is a haughty fellow and will be offended if we try to bargain with him(Agree to his request)
Arnbord(Uroxi Warleader): Hire him to curse one of our enemies!
Perandal(Lhankor Mhy Lawspeaker): Hiring foreign magicians to vex foes is not illegal, but I can't think of any great kings or heroes who would have done such a thing(Forget it)
Ernaldess(Ernalda): He hasn't told us exactly what he would do to our enemies. His offer is too vague.(Forget it)
Aski(Barntar): We have been cut off from the lands ot the north for centuries. There i s no telling what strange magic might be up there.
Orlgandi(Trickster): There is much to admire in this fellow(Agree)
Korlmar(Issaries): We can force the Vostangi to pay us for peace.(Make peace)
Arnbord(Uroxi Warleader): Wounded can't talk
Perandal(Lhankor Mhy Lawspeaker): The Woodpecker lawspeakers will claim they are not responsible for the attack, because they are mere mercenaries and therefore, neutral.
Ernaldess(Ernalda): Wait until the crops are harvested then plan for spectacular vengeance.(Hire Woodpecker mercenaries)
Aski(Barntar): Retaliate against the Vostang clan!(Retaliate with a raid)
Orlgandi(Trickster): Bad things like this will keep happening as long as we are feuding.(Make peace)
First order of business is to heal our wounded, to get our chief and Warleader back.
Good, good.
Tarkala(Uralda Chieftain): We're having trouble with some of our neighbors. We should improve relations by giving the body to them.(Give it to another clan)
Korlmar(Issaries): We should ask 25 cows for it(Trade it to another clan)
Arnbord(Uroxi Warleader): Remember what happened in the Dragonkill War(Leave it alone)
Perandal(Lhankor Mhy Lawspeaker): Dragonewts make all the other strange foreigners look normal by comparison.(leave it alone)
Ernaldess(Ernalda): We should demand 15 cows for it.
Aski(Barntar):Remember what happened in the Dragonkill War( Leave it alone)

i suppose making peace is the least risky option, so i guess maybe that. Our fault for writing an unfunny poem.
