The thing is, there's no finesse to it whatsoever. Hussie has shown the ability to plot massive stories with crisscrossing timelines and recurring motifs that change meaning on the context while still leaving room for interpersonal drama,
I don't know. Homestuck is the first story of this magnitude that Hussie has tackled. He handled the first [insert whatever number you prefer] acts well, but they don't work in isolation. We need to see how the story ends before we can determine if it's any good—there's still plenty of time for Hussie to pull a Mass Effect 3 on us.

The Time aspect appears to have some sort of connection with death, as seen with the Heroes of Time: Dave collected dead things, Caliborn/English was regarded as the physical embodiment of death in troll culture and is later known as the "Angel of Double Death", Aradia had an interest in archeology, was dead prior to playing Sgrub, and is interested in death and guarding the afterlife (and refers to herself as "the death fangirl"), Damara appears to desire to serve English and an alternate iteration of her did serve him. This directly contrasts with the Life aspect or could also contrast with Space's association with life and beginnings.
The Supreme Personality of Godhead said: Time I am, the great destroyer of the worlds, and I have come here to destroy all people. With the exception of you [the Pandavas], all the soldiers here on both sides will be slain.
And the two of these Twelve Trolls that I like and care about are dead.
Man, Hussie, I'm not reading this comic until Equius and Nepeta are alive and Gamzee is dead dead dead MURDERED MURDERED MURDERED SQUASHED SQUISHED PERFORATED.

It's unlikely either will happen anytime soon...possibly ever.
Bits and pieces of it are good, yes, but on a whole, it seems like we just got a slightly dorkier version of Jade. The evisceration threat was the only thing that really struck me as interesting.
Like, that one part from Spider-Man 3, except not quite as ridiculous.
Really, Karkat was the best part of this update for calling the whole thing out as ridiculous (and for being Karkat, of course)
I'm just wondering if and when this will be written off as a Bad Future, and Dave and/or John will have to go back and fix it, sort of like the end of EarthBound.

...why would you put that spoiler there? Agh, I wanted to play Earthbound.
For what it's worth, that's a poor description of what happens at the end of Earthbound.
Also, I have an LP that I'd like to recommend to you. Well, actually I have Earthbound fanfic that's in the form of an LP to show you. Regardless, it's good reading and a heckuva lot faster than trying to beat that game (from experience).

Everything in Homestuck can be solved. It is so beautiful.

I just really want Gamzee to have some more permanent consequences for his actions.
