What is it with fandom people grievously misusing the word "deconstruction," anyhow? I get that there aren't a lot of good alternatives, but it already means something more comprehensive and complex in literary criticism.
academic term drip causes words that formerly had a very strict formal meaning to acquire looser, informal ones that often don't line up very well with the first.
The misuse of "deconstruction" irritates me because of the sheer disconnect between the critical term and the popular one, they're not really anything to do with one another
