The original version of the rules thread was open for posting to allow questions and suggestions about them, but it cluttered it (especially with off-topic conversations) and so the present one is closed for that reason.

A standalone thread for such may be useful, though.

TVT discussion is covered by rule 7: "This is not the place to discuss TV Tropes's policies, drama, or bans." Simply put, we're not interested in rehashing the same old circular arguments that tend to surround the site.

Banning all discussion of TVT strikes me as a bit extreme, because I fail to see how conversations like the one we've had this morning (effectively, reminiscing about old friends and good times had there) are objectionable.

Yeah, I don't see why something like "hey remember this hilarious moment from the Motherheap, good times, man" should be an offense.

Especially when there's a number, albeit a dwindling one, of people who still go on that site (me to an extent, and I've seen Kex and Tools post there recently) and/or have some good memories there.

That and it might be fun to link to trope articles and such in a positive way too, and I'd feel ridiculous if I got a warning for mentioning "Taken for Granite" or something in passing conversation about interests.
