For those of you who are into the Tales games, you might be interested in knowing that the "Additional Chapter: Alisha's Story" DLC for Tales of Zestiria's PC version -- which reportedly had purchasing disabled on Steam because of a save file bug -- got said bug fixed back in early December, but hasn't had purchasing re-enabled yet on Steam.
Mentioning this here because I promised a friend of mine to do so, and he's a much bigger Tales series fan than I am. (I know of the series but I have barely played its games.)
Finishing the rest of Mario 3D World as Rosalina. Slow as hell, but at least she can jump. And comes with a melee attack.
Also she's kinda creepy. Like, not "you might actually be playing as God and that's kinda weird" creepy, but "reminds me vaguely of the penguins guy from Yugioh Abridged" creepy. I'm not sure why.
A little bit into Hardmode, with all that implies.
I understand that it initially started off as DLC, which is why it feels like DLC rather than a proper sequel.
It's very good DLC. The Richter and Beard levels particularly. The Fans and the Son is a bit more hit and miss. I still haven't figured out how to use roll/dodge and not die.

I completely forgot I was going to try and S rank Hard mode. Oooooone of these days. Even if that damn shifted perspective messes with me.
I understand that, though personally disagree, since to me it feels like it expands enough on the story without bringing in fluff.
All of the Fans were enjoyable for me, even if I never did figure out how to properly use Corey's dodge roll. The Son, well, is just a tad too repetitive for my tastes, never mind that I just don't like enough of his levels, or segments therein.
The Swans are pretty much textbook Difficult But Awesome, I'll admit.
And i have no issue with the story. I just feel like it's more of a DLC story than a proper sequel. It doesn't move the story forward so much as give the fever dream plot of the first game a solid grounding. And that screams dlc more than sequel.
I'd also put, say, Bioshock 2 into the same 'basically DLC' bin
HM and Bioshock are both stories with a very, very self-contained plot with a very firm conclusion such that any extension, no matter how implemented, would come off as superfluous
HM2, which has more wiggle room because of the fever dream nature of its plot, at the very least, does a better job than Bioshock 2, which had a lot of lore planned for it and, therefore, little wiggle room
Transistor is a beautiful, engaging game, and is very much up my alley. Also I technically died once like a dumb fool (didn't check my hotkeys), which actually made me pretty upset. I mean, I could have retried, but I didn't want to.
Just bumbling around various areas for now while I gather strength. Perhaps I was a bit overconfident in choosing a halberd build straight off the bat.

I'm slightly sad that I don't have the Yunica Tovah emoticon for Ys Origin, but on the other hand, I did get both of the goddesses, and that more than makes up for it.
Super Mario 3D World, 100% for all five characters.
Man, Rosalina trivializes the beat blocks in Champion's Road, but she has this really annoying diminishing return from bouncing on enemies that makes the piranha climb nearly impossible. I had to bust out a cat suit to bypass the last bounce. Thankfully, her jumps are floaty enough that she can get into the key dash early from the corner and zigzag it once without backtracking at all. Probably the easiest one except Peach.
Theory: Half-Life 2 is an allegory for the colonization of the Americas.
* The Combine are, of course, the colonizing forces, and humans are the natives. Humans fight back but are crushed due to technological superiority. The Combine feed the survivors lies about being a civilizing and uplifting force.
*The role of invasive species is not neglected. The landscape is now filled with aggressive alien organisms upsetting the ecosystem, most of which appear to have been brought along by the Combine more or less accidentally. Those shells filled with headcrabs are basically less subtle smallpox blankets.
*The Combine have no regard for the ecological destruction they cause so long as they profit and gain resources.
* In this analogy, the Vortigaunts are African slaves.
I just started Gurumin. It's very charming in an "Ys meets Peanuts" way. Controls are really weird though -- not sure if high skill gate or just wonky. It's definitely designed for a dual-stick, and I'm not sure what the hell they were thinking with the default keyboard scheme. Also there's some kind of wall-run but it...may not be fully implemented? I dunno.
No idea what the difficulty looks like. Only Normal and below are available at first, and apparently there are three difficulties past it.

the most impressive ones also tend to be the most difficult ones, probably there's some connection there

I support Team Future, mostly because I do not like to dwell on the past.
Keep yer politics outta my squid kid games. >:v
I never thought of that (it just seemed like an anime prettyboy expressing an air of aloof uninterest) but suddenly I'm seeing a similarity.
Plus, I have the Yunica badge.
I'm tempted to download.
EDIT: I'm dumb, the PC release was 2 years before, but that still doesn't shout "dual stick".
