Cis people are kind of like the appendix. They exist and they used to serve a purpose, but now we’re better off without them.
I hope these people realize that if all cis people suddenly disappeared, they wouldn't be able to live their cushy tumblr lifestyles because all of human society will collapse.
Oh, yeah, I saw that post. I don't like it, in a nutshell.

Rescuing the President is a product of BAD ENOUGH consuming our society. Who benefits the most from BAD ENOUGH? Bad dudes vs. ninjas. Therefore they are the only true people who can carry out legitimate rescuing the President, but only over a less BAD ENOUGH ninja. The constructs of society have enabled ninjas to kidnap the President.
Magical girls can rescue the President, but it is not legitimate. It is not spurred by society or BAD ENOUGH. In a way magical girl President rescuers can also be kidnapped themselves. They are rebelling against the constructs of BAD ENOUGH.

I'm surprised; you seem to like making fun of SJWs so much that I'd have figured a parody would be right up your alley. Although getting to that point in the series might not be worth the effort, I dunno. Honestly, some of the guys you're digging up are worse than Kankri, only apparently completely serious.
I'm having trouble parsing what the first two people are trying to say.
From what I can tell, there's this idea among social justice bloggers that one can frequently blog about social justice-related topics but still be "not a social justice blogger" as long as you're running a personal blog instead of a blog explicitly about a social justice topic.
It's one of few things about this whole phenomenon that genuinely irritates me.
I realize tumblr's reblog feature kind of blurs the distinction between posting and replying to a post, but in principle it ought to be possible to distinguish between somebody who blogs about their social justice-related anxieties for a small audience of regular followers and somebody who actively makes it their mission to post about social justice issues, or who actively seeks arguments with other tumblr users, surely?
You are the end result of a “would you push the button” prompt where the prompt was “you have unlimited godlike powers but you appear to all and sundry to be an impetuous child” – Zero, 2022

Theoretically, yes, but I've encountered bloggers who, by all appearances, seem to belong to the latter category who say "I'm not a social justice blogger" when the issue is raised.
It bothers me, in part, because it seems to implicitly support the notion of "social justice" as a perjorative.
Kinda like the whole hipster thing, I guess. Nobody denies that there is such a thing, they just deny being one.
...OK, here's what's bugging me. If SJWs are supposedly a minor part of tumblr, why is so much of this thread about them? It's like the religion and mythology thread - it started off about interesting folklore and customs and then we filled it with extremist nonsense.
And I know we're singling out the nuttier ones, and a lot of them are pretty crazy and/or obnoxious, but it's like how atheists single out the nuttier fundamentalists, and conservatives single out the nuttier liberals, and science geeks single out the nuttier aspects of the humanities, and goons single out the nuttier tropers and bronies, and so on. Lately we seem to have singled out, as our primary target for mockery, the nuttier side of a movement that seeks to promote sensitivity and respect for one's fellow human beings and the ending of discrimination. What exactly does that make us?
I know it doesn't necessarily imply anything. I just don't like, or understand, the fixation.
Fouria: Yeah, we almost never hear about SJ bloggers that are doing good things, just the ones that are tilting at windmills and chasing ghosts, so to speak. I know the drama is entertaining, but sometimes you just need something uplifting.
You are the end result of a “would you push the button” prompt where the prompt was “you have unlimited godlike powers but you appear to all and sundry to be an impetuous child” – Zero, 2022
Admittedly I would like it if we, as a forum, could stop beating the “lol social justice” dead horse…especially as this thread is (I think) meant to be a general Tumblr thread, and any non-SJ related Tumblr talk quickly gets drowned out by the Kankri of the Day. I haven’t really said anything up to this point, though, because I tend to be a willing participant in these conversations and as such I would feel it hypocritical to criticize them.
I think the main reason I can’t let it go is that…well, I do spend a lot of time on Tumblr, because almost all my online friends who aren’t here are there. But the everybody-reposts-everything nature of the site means that even if you’re not following obnoxious bloggers, you still get exposed to a lot of this SJW stuff firsthand. As such, I’ve kinda taken to using this thread to vent about it or express my opinions on it. Much as I hate to admit it, this stems at least partly from cowardice—I don’t vent about it on Tumblr because I don’t want to kick up a shitstorm.
That said, the whole Leradny thing from earlier has kinda given me a different perspective. Had I not seen the whole initial exchange play out, I probably would have drawn the same hasty conclusions some other posters here did, based on the same one or two posts made after the fact. Until now I didn’t really appreciate how much something that looks stupid or misguided on the surface can actually be a part of something bigger and much more complicated, but now I’m inclined to view at least some of this stuff a bit more charitably.
The "legitimate rape" thing is from someone called "aseasonedplateofmurder" who I found 8ecause she once put trigger warnings for murder on a picture of fried chicken and I wanted to see if she was as crazy as I thought she was and wow she was worse.
Yeah I'm gonna stick to roleplaying and looking at cute/pretty pictures and reading the actually-funny textposts and stuff.
I read a post about that interracial porn is inherently racist. By that logic interracial relationships are racist.
To be fair, go on a porn site, look for interracial porn and take a drink every time "monster" is used in a video containing a black man. You'll get pretty drunk.

SJ is such a farce in itself that anything parodying it seems like a Johnny-come-lately, tbh
Fouria: Yeah, we almost never hear about SJ bloggers that are doing good things, just the ones that are tilting at windmills and chasing ghosts, so to speak. I know the drama is entertaining, but sometimes you just need something uplifting.
Sure, that would be nice. But really, I'm just sick of the practice of finding horrible/stupid people on the Internet and laughing at them. I don't find the drama terribly entertaining. I get that other people do, though, so I don't know, maybe I'm making too much of this.
But I also don't see why we're specifically making fun of "social justice" bloggers, as though there aren't legions of political bloggers, youtube commenters, vloggers, tweeters, wiki editors, Nice Guys, Internet tough guys, script kiddies, trolls, otherkin, otakukin, furries, bronies, anons, redditors, idiots on Facebook, people whose entire identities revolve around bizarre fetishes, hardcore gamers, retrogamers, MMO gamers, open-source elitists, hipsters, metalheads, juggalos, liberals, conservatives, libertarians, Objectivists, Satanists, Lesswrongians, antinatalists, meme elitists, fanboys, fangirls, fan artists, shippers, fanficcers and attention-seekers of every description producing drama and other stupidity by the (probably Homestuck-fan-spittle-filled) bucketload.

Suit yourself. To my mind, a good comic satire can be genuinely entertaining while making sharp, meaningful criticisms, with a wider relevance beyond poking fun at any one individual.

I don't think what she said was stupid at all. I'm talking about this (reposting this in its entirety):
If you think the justice system is inherently corrupt and cares nothing about justice, this cynical platitude is a blanket statement which is just as bad as extreme idealism.
To make my point, I’d like everyone to know that I am attending college in Oakland, California.
Some people probably got the image of a dingy, pre-Batman West Coast Gotham. With gangs instead of the mob. And I have to say that stereotype is not entirely unfounded. There are places where everyone knows not to go. People are more suspicious there, compared to the small town where I actually live. I myself have gotten my wallet stolen.
Do most average Oaklanders want this situation to change? Of course.
Do most average Oaklanders complain on the Internet with no context or audience that will make an actual difference?
No. We learn which places are safe. We learn how to tell when people are bullshitting. The ambitious ones get into actual activism. (We learn to tell when activists are bullshitting too.)
To Social Justice Bloggers in General: You aren’t making a difference by shouting complaints into the void whenever you feel particularly cynical.
Learn about your city or your state. Learn about politics or the justice system or whatever’s got you grinding your teeth and have a reasonable conversation. That way, if you want to complain, you can send your grievances to the right people instead of wasting space here in the land of fangirl squees and reblogged gifsets.
You don’t know who the right people are? You don’t have time/money/effort/learning to find out?
Then kindly tell me what exactly you are complaining about. I know we want to be anonymous on the Internet, but “the justice system” isn’t really helpful. Did a cop watch as an escaped convict with illegal firearms held up a school, then take a share of the money and buy crack with it?
According to that tumblr reply thing, this is her statement. She's preaching common sense and truth, she even took the time to thoughtfully compose and write it. She then gets one mild rebuke and starts denying everything and apologizing. That's just tragic.
What happened before that, or what kind of person she actually is, I don't know. This is all I'm going off of here.

Right, and I'm not intending to criticize you for drawing that conclusion based on what you saw. I would have done the same. (I apologize, as "stupid or misguided" was not good phrasing.)
All I'm saying is that seeing the original context has me inclined to interpret it more charitably, which in turn, makes me realize that there may be more to a lot of these situations than what I'm seeing.
^ I realize I'm a bit of a broken record about this at this point, but that's partly why I wasn't keen on PYF's TVT threads, or Crazy Goggs.
For example, Crazy Goggs' Made of Meat video, for which he almost certainly didn't know Meat's situation in real life. Or, more mildly, that more recent NaNoWriMo video, where he's mostly making fun of a way of talking about characters that's fairly normal among writers.
Hence why I think that reading a page like that blog about the "tone argument" and assuming the worst is uncharitable.
Made of Meat had some genuine psychological issues. Most of the details about what went on aren't particularly known because most of it happened over Private Messages.
Suffice it to say, really not something I'd condone making fun of.
Also didn't CrazyGoggs turn out to have a TVTropes account that posted fairly regularly?
According to CrassCrab, a goon from SA who claimed to be the Jack Thaddeus of Chris-chan fame, CrazyGoggs was Clyde Cash. That might be what you were thinking of.
Hence why I think that reading a page like that blog about the "tone argument" and assuming the worst is uncharitable.
For a person (Abagond) who bolstered her definition with the claim that white people are "brainwashed" and then conspiratorially suggests that white people act like "clueless innocents" whenever called out on being brainwashed, I think I'm being incredibly charitable by editing down her vitriol to include only the actual definition to use as the example, as her own words are far more damaging to her own cause than any criticism can mete out.
Abagond (she's a she? The name "Julian" made me assume she was a man) said that she used to think white people were brainwashed because most of them acted like they were cluelessly innocent.
Now, why would somebody say that?
Note that in Abagond's "Broken Record Dept" she clarifies that when she says "whites" she doesn't mean "all whites", and that Abagond is not a white self-proclaimed ally, but somebody who claims to have been on the first-hand receiving end of racial prejudice against black people.
I don't know Abagond, and I'm not going to attempt to act as her spokesperson. I don't like or agree with everything she says in that post; in particular I think that her argument that everyone who uses a tone argument is a "cold-hearted bastard" underestimates the extent to which a great many white Americans do in fact hate racists and racism (as they perceive the concepts) to the point where being accused of being racist is actually extremely painful and counter-intuitive. I also think the argument underestimates the extent to which people in general are often oblivious to their own underlying biases and prejudices.
But I haven't lived her life, and neither have you, and as such I think that assuming the worst possible reading of a concept that she defines is uncharitable.
Edit: and in fact, reading it again, that stuff about white people acting clueless is part of her explanation of her reasoning for deciding to do away with tone when addressing racists. She states that in her experience, people who are called out for their racism protest innocence. This seems highly plausible to me as this is my experience as well, and I'm talking proper neo-Nazi shit here: racists who were literally quoting Enoch Powell's "Rivers of Blood" speech in response to a riot in which African Americans were involved, or attempting to "justify" their love of Asian culture (i.e. anime) on the basis of "shared haplogroups", just moments prior. She makes the not at all unreasonable assumption that somebody who didn't mean to be racist would apologize for causing offence, rather than act defensive when confronted, and she concludes on this basis that white racists are not merely ignorant and biased, but cruel and deceptive. Assuming this to be the case, I really don't see why anyone would ever want to be polite to such people.
Doctor Who reference in Pokemon B2W2? Headcanon accepted.
Like I said, I'm just going from the definition that Abagond offered on that page and nothing else. I was very tempted to go around his/her's blog and point and point out other equally ridiculous arguments and/or notions that this person espouses but that would have been out of the scope of this discussion, and probably would have derailed it too.
As for him/her stating that the belief that white people were brainwashed is no longer held, you're right. Abagond replaced that with the notion that's just an act and all white people are in on it. One broad sweeping generalization replaced with another one, which is hardly an improvement.
Note that in Abagond's "Broken Record Dept" she clarifies that when she says "whites" she doesn't mean "all whites",
I guarantee you that if I swapped the races around, and then used Abagond's arguments here with "not all blacks" as a justification, that excuse would fly over like a lead balloon. Especially with Abagond here. That's not to say I'm upset that I don't to use such an argument, I'm saying that it's a bullshit argument all-around.
A while back I got dragged into a discussion with my friend from Berkeley. It was about how many modern-day progressives and urbanites (especially Berkeley students) hold the perception that small-town, Christian, conservative element that's typical of a red state are all basically neanderthals. Think Cooter from Dukes of Hazzard, that's every single one of us. We're incapable of a rational thought because we fear an ancient sky wizard, and the notion of our higher education being worth anything is a joke. Now my friend in question here is actually a really cool guy and we have discussions like you and I are having here all the time where we discuss this sort of thing candidly. Out of the blue one of his classmates appeared and started spouting off every single one of these ridiculous fucking stereotypes as if they were fact. After he was done, I corrected him on every point and he attempted to "clarify" that not ALL of us west Texans were like that, and clearly I was not one of these lesser life forms. Hopefully this illustrates how insulting this backpedal is, no matter who makes the argument.
I didn't say it was an improvement, I said it was what she used to believe and that she had explained why she used to hold that belief. I elaborated on that a bit in my edit to my above post.
I do see your point about "not all whites" being an insulting backpedal, and it's a fair point, and generalizations like that do suck. Again, though, I think it's fairly evident how she arrived at the view that the use of language in such a way was perfectly acceptable, if her experiences with white people have been so severely terrible as what I've read of her blog seems to imply. Not that this is an excuse, but that it's a plausible and apparent cause.
The Blue Eye White Dragon Homestuck/Yo-Gi-oh post is actually making the rounds. I was surprised to see it pop back up on dash with your name attached to it.
More generally, because I didn't really want to be defending a particular blogger at length: the way I see it, the whole of human history has been riddled with bigotry, often expressed in the form of violence, and as such it would be astonishing if it hadn't permeated our language, our culture and our biases to the extent that I believe it has. I believe people who appear to "see [insert prejudice here] everywhere" are simply highly conscious of this - yes, probably to the point of seeing prejudice where there really is none at times, and probably to the point of overreacting at times - but I don't think there is reason to suppose they themselves are simply hateful people, or outright delusional.
