You are the end result of a “would you push the button” prompt where the prompt was “you have unlimited godlike powers but you appear to all and sundry to be an impetuous child” – Zero, 2022
You know, I totally game the system by queuing posts for the times when I know more of my friends are online
That way I get more notes
Or should I say, Note$
Also, it amuses me that even the Xkit guy refers to himself as "The Xkit Guy"
It was definitely overhyped and I can think of plenty of valid reasons to dislike it otherwise, but the point made about that kind of self-righteous metal snobbery still stands.
I have heard nothing by Liturgy, although I do know that their guitarist is friendly with Michael Gira.
first off they try to aim for this kinda old-school thin guitar sound, but the rest of the production is really clean sounding, so it like doesn't mesh right
the drums also sound off, almost like they've been... set up wrong somehow? i don't know jack shit about that sort of thing though so i cant name exactly what's going wrong.
(*also the vox are just kinda annoying, but whatever*)
In other tangentially Tumblr-related news, suddenly Don't Hug Me I'm Scared has a crazy fandom. This puzzles me. I mean, the directors of the original put out a new one recently, and they are striking, but... really?

The particular fuel for the new obsession seems to be the gijinkas of the Notepad and the Clock.
To use a Homestuck term (and I do hate to use such terms), the Notepad and the Clock are in kismessitude. Love each other but constantly try to kill each other. You know how tumblr is about such things.
come on, there are those planet industrialists. There are seven of them, they're related to the planets, and you can ship them.
The brief scene of the fighting dogs, not to mention the exploding models with the chameleons (although I do not think that they actually blew up the chameleons), would have so many people flipping out that it's not even funny.
no because most things that are really really really left field are just trying too hard, or at least come across that way.
That's why I liked Middens but not its sequel.
I don't think that's really the case with truly baffling things: I would never say that David Lynch or Alejandro Jodorowsky are trying too hard, for example, because I don't think that they are doing anything but exactly what they want to do regardless of what other people think. And then there are true-blue outsider artists who are really just doing art for themselves without realising that anyone else might find it unusual or even interesting.
Of course, sometimes one can try to be truly weird and succeed, but I think that requires a genuine appreciation for and identification with the weird rather than a mere desire to shock.

The thing about art with a Lynchian quality is that it is anathema to wide popcultural acceptance by simply being what it is. It's like trying to mix water and oil. David Lynch is never going to have a tumblr style "fandom", his works just don't resonate in that way. Which is fine, I'd never suggest David Lynch is bad at what he does, but you get what I'm saying.
Anyway I've never cared for stuff like Cyrak, I don't get it and have never been given a good reason to attempt to get it.
I haven't seen much of Cyriak's work, although what I have seen is pretty baffling. I'm not sure if I liked it or not. David O'Reilly, on the other hand, is a personal favourite of mine and well worth checking out even if you aren't into that sort of thing. His work is really moving, which is not something that a lot of experimental animators can say. The same goes for Masaaki Yuasa, but he's a different beast entirely.
Cyriak's just bizarre enough to be interesting, but not so bizarre that I can't show him to my friends when they ask 'so, Yarrun, you have any cool Youtube videos to show us?'.
I think the only piece of experimental animation I've ever watched is Flutter, which is not experimental in the same sense that you guys are talking about.

I don't know the details exactly, but it sounds like Tumblr sort of unceremoniously removed the blog because of Hasbro pulling copyright.
I'm guessing they could do this with basically anything on the net that they own.
I kinda doubt a letter that says, "Hey, that guy who you took out because he was having a character misbehave has made another blog and that character is making cameos," would work as well.

The complaint was content, but Hasbro used copyright to get their way.
I mean, if Hasbro wanted some sort of iron fist control over MLP, they'd probably shut down Equestria Daily, FimFiction, and Derpibooru just to name a few...
At least two of those contain some pretty mind-numbingly horrifying content, but I guess no one wants to go after them given just how much collateral damage there'd be.

Yes, hence why I said "behaves herself".
I wasn't suggesting this was some sort of sneaky way to continue Ask Molestia. It sounds like the creator kinda wants to wash his hands of the blog anyhow.
He's simply free to include her, or so I'd imagine, just so long he keeps her antics at a bit more subdued level.

i mean, if Hasbro used copyright to get it taken down, they could easily do the same with Gamer Luna if he chose to piss them off
they wouldn't have to provide any further justification to tumblr than that; copyright infringement is evidently sufficient grounds
so baiting them like that seems like it would be unwise

seems to me that the 'antics' of any character called Molestia are probably something a company like Hasbro would want to avoid, though
