Here's a simple rule as to Nasushit anime adaptations: Is it by ufotable? If so(Kara no Kyoukai, Fate/zero), it's good, and you should watch it. If not(F/sn,Tsukihime), it sucks.
Although, if you do intend to read F/SN at some point, it's probably better to do so before watching F/Z, since F/Z has some pretty major F/SN spoilers that aren't covered in the anime. Admittedly, F/Z is spoiled slightly by F/SN by virtue of being a prequel, but it's less severe.
also after finishing it and some rumination I can safely say that I recommend Panty and Stocking, at least starting from the second part of the fifth episode.
Serial Experiments Lain remains my favorite anime and I don't really see anything dethroning it any time soon.
As for the dub, unless it's atrocious I'll probably be watching that. I have a hard time watching subtitled stuff and prefer not to if there's an alternative.
I say that because the first 4 are kinda dull monster of the week fare and the humor is almost entirely blue, but as it goes on, while still using a fair amount of blue humor, it becomes a bit more of a rapid-fire somewhat-surreal slapstick, with more interesting fight scenes and ridiculous homages.
^^ Funnily enough, I adore serial experiments: lain as well... and I prefer the sub.
Which is not to give you the impression that I'm some kind of snobby anti-dub person. I just play it by ear some shows need to be in English; some need to be heard in Japanese; and a few would work either way, but just sound better in one or the other. Madoka and lain just sound better in sub to me; ditto Azumanga Daioh.
^ That makes sense. Some shows take a while to get into a groove.
I actually think Azumanga's dub is significantly better. The jokes don't read very well. Which is one of the reasons I like the anime more than the manga.
^^^ I disagree sincerely. While the English dub is very skilful and funny, the voices just don't feel quite as appropriate, and a lot of the weird little quirks that I liked in the Japanese get lost. Plus, the scenes with Chiyo-chichi (as infrequent as they are) lose a lot without Norio Wakamoto's crazy basso.
I also take issue with the assertion that the jokes end up being merely in the text when in sub; the acting is still there, and when you know the meaning of the words, it makes sense. It's just a matter of correlation. I'm not sure if that makes any sense, because it's kind of hard to explain...
As for the manga, it is also very funny, and I intend to read more of it, although I haven't been exposed to enough of it to say which I prefer—although I'm not sure that I really could, given how different four-panel comic strips and animation are as media.

Also, I tend to like Animes dubbed if it the characters are technically speaking a different language.
So, I prefer watching Black Lagoon and Hellsing dubbed. I'd love to watch Monster dubbed in German.
Blood: The Last Vampire (anime, haven't watched the live action) gets mad props for doing it right and just making the characters speak whatever language they're suppose to be speaking.

Finished Angel Beats and also the OVA.
I agree with most of the criticism, that it would have been nice for more episodes to flush out some of the side characters a bit more. However, I covered that.
After watching just a little in Japanese, I'm guessing I would have been less annoyed with that version, the catch phrases aren't nearly as bad.
All and all, I really enjoyed it, there was somewhat of a lull after the first ep but it picked up and stayed interesting (if moving a little faster than I would have liked). The ending was pretty satisfying to me.
OVA and Ending Spoilers
Also, I know a lot of people didn't like the OVA because they felt it didn't really add anything, but GOD did I need a silly, nonsensical episode where everyone was just off the wall goofy. The last few episodes are crazy emotional, I can understand why they wanted to do another goofy episode then add...well probably more bitter-sweet romance because that's all that was really left. I laughed through about half the entire episode, making it the funniest in an anime that had several funny episodes.

oh.
did that ever get dubbed? I know they were going to but I don't remember if it ever did.
I'll have to watch it one of these days, but idk.

Assassin poems, Poems that shoot

and take their weapons leaving them dead
That was my show back in the day. Always racing home from church to catch it on Saturday nights.
I never did get to see that one transformation where Bobobo melds with the tiny guy and becomes a Vocaloid.
I don't care that I'm a page late and everybody's talking about Madoka now.
