    READ MY CROSS SHIPPING-FANFICTION, DAMMIT!

I read it A LOT back in the day, but dropped it when I realized I had grown out of stuff like someone thinking a feather was effective torture.

I've considered getting back into it, but some of the newer characters look like they where cooked up by bad fan-fiction writers.

Mina Mongoose (dubbed Songoose for her singing talents) is a fictional character who appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic book series. She is a yellow, female, teenage, anthropomorphic mongoose. Mina has purple hair held back by a black headband, and green eyes.

She debuted in the Sonic Archie Comics in issue #76 where she was captured by Dr. Robotnik and rescued by Sonic the Hedgehog. She is one of three girls (the other two being Princess Sally Acorn and Amy Rose) well known for competing for the affections of Sonic the Hedgehog.

Mina is the 16 year-old daughter of Isabella Mongoose and the late Arthur Mongoose. A schoolgirl in love with Mobius' most renowned hero, Mina is also a heroine in her own right. Recently she has enjoyed a highly successful singing career, and has become one of Mobius' biggest celebrities.

Originally, Mina's outfit consisted of a black tank top, brown shorts, and green boots and gloves. Later on, her tanktop became violet in the front with black straps, and a skirt of matching design.

Mina's most prominent ability is her singing talent.
King Maxrecruited her to sing for the troops due to her voice. Since then, she's been on the road to becoming a famous singer. Also, she's a faster runner than the average Mobian, a skill that stems from the fact she's a mongoose, a naturally fast creature (Though it was later revealed that Mammoth Mogul gave her super speed that matched Sonic's).

Do you think it's something I could just jump into? I know it has a different continuity from the games...

I ummm...hmmm...If you watched the Sat:AM cartoon, you'd at least know who many of the core characters are.

So, I'd do that first, if you haven't.

If you read enough, you'll probably pick up backstory, but like any comic that's gone on for a long ass-time, there will probably be moments where you have no clue who someone is or what is going on because it happened 20 or more issues ago.

Though, you have something I didn't all those years back when I read the comic. You have an internet that will detail out everything that's happened in the comic and stuff about characters, so I'm sure you can fill in the gaps pretty easily.

There are admittedly some things that had me curious, like Super Sonic saying he would beat the evil out of someone.

...you know, I used to like Ryan Drummond's Sonic voice but now I'm so used to Jason Griffith and Roger Craig Smith that I find Ryan's voice unfitting for Sonic.
