  so, uh, how come nobody told me how wrong I was about this show? I already held an appreciation for it of sorts, but it was a partial target of my misinformed lamentations on modern animation...

  i suppose i assumed you'd seen more of it than you had, and you seemed like you had a lot of mixed feelings about it
  
  i thought you mostly liked funny things without much continuity which made broad pop culture allusions but not geeky references

  Peridot is one of those characters where i think, we wouldn't get along IRL, but she's a lot of fun to watch

  It might not be as much of my thing as I had thought, though...it's got things that appeal to me but I'm not one to get heavily invested in this world
  
  Also, I have a lot of ill-phrased thoughts on cartoon trends
