I'm trying to come up with a metaphor to explain Uncanny Valley but the only one I can think of involves typefaces and road signs and explaining a concept in terms of my obsessions is a bit too autistic for me.

The sign on the left is completely unrealistic, so it won't bother you. The sign on the right, however, is much closer to realistic, but just "off" enough that you'll find yourself bugged by the fact that it's not quite right.
...Could someone who "gets" uncanny valley tell me if that's a decent explanation? I understand the concept, er, conceptually, but I don't really experience it myself.

It's decent. Though, to people who don't pay much attention to road signs, comic sans road sign is going to bump people much more than the other one. :P

Would anypony be offended if I make Luna claim she suffers from Asperger's? She doesn't, and one or more of the characters will pick up on the fact that she just thinks she suffers from Asperger's the same way many self-diagnosed internet ponies do. This dialog box amuses me for two reasons:
"Unix" is a funny word. It just is.
OpenTTD runs in a window. I could have "returned to Unix" at any time just by minimizing it and clicking to something else.
