  • Don't get into a blaster war. You can get fined for those nowadays.
  • The cops can baely be assed to come over here if someone wraps their car around a tree / there are gunshots. And it's not like I can really compete with somthing loud enough to make the windows rattle every time the drive by.
  • It smells like skeet in here.
  • So. We meet again.
  • I wonder who else remembers that thread.
  • Not a hybrid rabbit-skink spirit
    I do! :D

    Yep.

I wonder who else remembers that thread.

I do. The IJBM era is strange, in retrospect.
  • imagei will watch the heck outta this pumpkin patch
It was strange at the time.
  • You should write about it on your BLAG! :D
  • The sadness will last forever.
    Cider
  • IJBM was both terrible and entertaining. At least here we don't have so many stupid arguments. And shit threads are will accepted.
  • So. I'm kind of being obsessed about whether Stuck!Tre's a Marty Stu or not.

I took this test and it gave me a 23, so it said he's fine, but I took a different one a few weeks ago that said he was beyond repair.

Bluh. Being stuck with an author avatar can be a curse sometimes.

The tests differ in what they measure, and some are better than others.

I wouldn't pay too much attention to them though; they can only serve as a guideline at best.
  • Not a hybrid rabbit-skink spirit
If it helps any, I just saw him as your fairly basic high school loser character.

Then again, I only read the first Stuck novel, so I don't know if he got worse
  • He essentially stays the same, just with some petty overprotectiveness over Nora (although I kind of replaced that with a jealousy-type thing, to make it seem more logical).

  • i see what you did there

Hehe, I knew someone would see it.
  • Huh. I took that same one that said he was irredeemably Sue-y and it gave him a 30, which makes him "borderline".

Weird. Ah well. I know I'm not trying to make him perfect or anything; besides, the only real Marty in the books is Jake and he's supposed to be a spoof of them anyway.
  • i wish to come up with a song lyric for this signature, but no song lyrics are coming to mind

    this comic is amazing

  • I really think Mary Sue litmus tests are waaaaay over rated. They can be good guide lines but don't live and breath by them. It's always funny when someone runs a character from a published work/movie/tv show/etc. through them. Like it's proven and undeniable truth that x character is a Sue.

but i thought tests on the internet were infallible

Remember back in the 50s when they'd record like Elvis singing YOU AIN'T NOTHIN BUT A HOUND DOG and then they'd turn the record over and reverse it and it was all NYERP NYERP NYERP NYERP NYERP and people were all like, "That is actually the voice of Satan coming from that song."
    Yay, my computer froze. :|

Thankfully, all it took was a hard reset (if that's the proper term for a laptop) to get it back up and running. This doesn't happen very often at all; in fact, this is only the second time it's happened in the year and a half I've had it. But it's still annoying. :|

I wonder why The General Lee was a Doge Charger. Aren't muscle cars desgined to go fast, straight? Not that going fast is a bad thing, but you'd think that, due to how most of their chases are on backwater dirt roads, if even that, the Dukes would prefer a pickup or a jeep or something that would be better for going off road.
  • Speaking of which, it amazes me how many broken bridges there are in Hazzard County. They must have, like, the laziest public works department in the country.
  • Either that or it's an RPG.

I used to like the Dukes of Hazzard when I was a kid. *hangs head in shame*
  • Which must mean that the Dukes are NPCs as they can always make it past the broken bridges just fine yet the cops never can. Does that mean that the cops are actually the protaganists?

    Squid:What if what's my hairdo?

  • *Has never actually seen Dukes of Hazzard and is just going on what I've heard of it*

I actually had one of these, which was totally hot shit at the time.

  • I remember when I was short enough to ride in stuff like that.

Wow, that was along time ago.

Now I have a learners permit for real cars.

Speaking of which, I drove something with a manual transmission for the first time a few days ago.

...Sweet monkey Jesus, is it scary.

    Squid:"It" from the Ebay comercials?

    What a wicked hot shit.

    ...I miss Tzetze
  • Touch the cow. Do it now.
It's kinda weird, when I was a kid and had that "car" I was really excited about it. But when it came time to drive real cars I...found it a lot more unpleasant.
  • imagei will watch the heck outta this pumpkin patch
I stopped taking driving lessons because I needed to save money for uni, but I found the experience strangely uncomfortable.
  • Touch the cow. Do it now.
What scared me about driving, and kind of still does, is how close you are to killing someone at pretty much any given time.

Maybe I should go back there some time (ed: to #yackfest, not Hazzard County).  I dislike IRC, though I'm not entirely sure why.

I kind of wish I could drive but I figure I can get away without until I'm done with my course.
  • Imi:Good god, I know how that feels. Even if I'm in a empty parking lot, I still feel like I'm about to hit someone all the time.
