Can you blame me? The teleprompter, the microphone, the otherwise conservative suit with a fair amount of cleavage of course because why not, the pseudo-professionalism...

Necroing is a pretty good example of people not using great judgement when it comes to responding to thread. On the other hand, it's also the result of OTHER communities getting pissed off for when a new thread is created that is the same topic as an old...

So as the description pages for the Alaska shields on Wikimedia point out, the specs for the shield doesn't actually specify what typeface "ALASKA" should be set in.
I've learned to tolerate drama...except on the boat
Looking at the first one the second time immediately brought to mind my 2002 road trip, a piece of which my mind has always inextricably linked with Samurai Jack.

Colorado to Michigan, and then back. We passed through Nebraska, Missouri, Iowa (IIRC), Illinois, and Indiana along the way (I think the Samurai Jack memory took place there, as did a rainstorm that sticks out for some reason.). We stayed in Chicago for a couple of days, and I remember wanting to watch WGN to see if the local feed was like the national one.

I've never been on a road trip that long.
The longest trip I've been one was the one this summer, which was from Ohio to Georgia and back, mostly along I-75. It was about 1200 miles round-trip.
At one point, on the way there, we got stuck in traffic on Tennessee. It was storming and they had a bridge reduced to one lane in each direction for construction...it took us at least an hour and a half to get through the construction zone, because we kept stopping.

The modern signs use what appear to be a faux-italic version of FHWA, though I prefer the typeface used on the older signs.
