You are the end result of a “would you push the button” prompt where the prompt was “you have unlimited godlike powers but you appear to all and sundry to be an impetuous child” – Zero, 2022
right now a bunch of people on /r/anime are all starting to make the exact same thread
"I CAN'T BELEIVE THAT SHOUNEN MAID WAS SNUBBED AT THE OSCARS"
there was some really acclaimed anime film everyone wanted to win
can't even remember the title, but like, a month or two ago someone made a thread that was something like "what will you do if This One Anime Film We All Like doesn't win BAF" and the responses were
/r/anime is a great place because everyone constantly whines about how anime isn't respected as an art form and the industry is dying and then also constantly posts "juicy gifs" from Monster Girls and it's the exact same people who do both things.

animation fans in general seem to continually bemoan the industry's imminent death
When the Oscars pull what they did on Dennis Farina and leave you out of the Those We Lost reel because we need all FIVE of those musical numbers, mister
Random thought: young me didn't understand why Atticus Finch had a maid, because my dad's a stay-at-home-dad and clearly it's a dad's job to take care of the house.
Yes, everyone I knew had working fathers, but I saw my own situation as normal and everyone else as weird.
I had the same issues with the maid in 101 Dalmatians.

well
there are no polite words for them.
how ridiculous your name should have been nominated
Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway were apparently handed the wrong envelope and didn't know what to do, so they rolled with it and there was some confusion for a few minutes.
Also, I was honestly surprised that The Red Turtle was nominated but Your Name wasn't, although I'm not sure if the latter is out in the Anglosphere yet to begin with so, uh, yeah. I'm happy with Zootopia winning—it feels like a classic Pixar film when even modern Pixar films don't feel like that—although Kubo seems to have been snubbed overall. And I was pulling for Moonlight, because the one clip they played on NPR when they interviewed the writers actually made me almost cry, and it just looks gorgeous.

Yup. They got handed a duplicate of the Best Actress envelope.
Actually my sources told me Kubo actually won Best Animated Picture and also Amy Adams was fucking nominated for Best Actress like she goddamn should have been
As an aside: That song from Moana was actually way more tolerable than nearly anything from Frozen, which I honestly thought was musically a snore. "Do You Want to Build a Snowman?" had pathos, but ye gods, "Let It Go" is a bane and a torture.

And yet, an utterly charming thing from kids. I know a lot of innocently fannish things are from kids, but yannow.

Those songs from La La Land were actually really good, by the way. It might actually be a good musical. Those are frighteningly rare. I might have to see it.

Er, um.

Hell, I probably liked Zootopia more based on the surprising absence of cloying musical numbers.
Fuck. I really don't want to spoil it for the people who haven't seen it.
