part of me wants to watch the Oscars and see who wins
and also see what people are wearing 'cause that is always fun
and part does not 'cause for one thing I am not excited by acceptance speeches and such, also if/when they do tributes to people we lost in 2016 I know I will cry
so... meh. maybe I'll just look up who wins tomorrow? idk
Maybe I should just announce I will skip it like last year because nothing is going to make me fit in except hammer a nail into the autistic part of my brain and then cultivate an appreciation for our rapist quarterback
Again, because none of the fucking Oscar voters watch these movies
I actually saw that last night! I would not be mad if it won, honestly. It's probably one of the best things Disney itself has done since Lilo & Stitch.
Bizarrely, a Daveed Diggs rap shows up for a few seconds in Zootopia, thus completing the circle of "holy fuck when did things I like become relevant."
Honestly, even though I haven't seen either of them yet, if it's between Moana and Zootopia in the end, I'm pretty content. Both seem relatively solid overall and you could do a fair bit worse.
Best Animated Film, in a good year, is usually something like Spirited Away or The Triplets of Belleville. Which is to say, markedly above average and really pretty. Like, the kind of thing that should be getting awards, maybe.

I know
I just thought it would be funny if a commercial movie no one acknowledges won because people would be going HOLY SHIT
okay but Crystal you say you mostly eat the bowls anyways which aren't what I'm talking about, i'm talking about the good old fashioned pieces of fried chicken with the bones in 'em

This man went to an Ivy League school and orders steak well-done, then eats it with ketchup. Jesus.
Also, aren't Kubo and Your Name up? Films that most people agree are somewhere between "rather good" and "actually amazing"?
