GMH: Those blue things with the tongue in the middle are "Micro Ribbon" connectors, and they're used for all sorts of things. The 36-pin ones are the "Centronics" ports printers pretty much all used before USB (if they weren't serial printers), and the 50-pin ones were used for telephone systems (as "RJ-21") and later on for SCSI-1.
