...it's just a breakfast cereal, Naney.  It's no less edible than cornflakes or porridge or whatever.

Though that description does make it sound pretty unappetizing, admittedly.

^ OK I don't know what that was about. o_O

    Seriously, Skinheads?

    ^ ^ Indeedy.
  • For their next campaign, they're gonna make the Chavs.
  • THIS MACHINE KILLS FASCISTS
The closest thing you'll find in the US is probably shredded wheat (it even used to come in Weetabix-ish bricks), though I do understand Weetabix itself is available if you don't mind looking for it.
  • With a little switchblade in every box.

Blad, skeen it's a part of this complete breakfast, innit? (*Stabs*)

With that, I must be off.

    I still hate the word "chav". -_-;

You know it's just a regular cereal?  It's really popular here.  It's in every supermarket.

Depending on when they made those mascots they might not have been aware of the neo-nazi thing.  Skinheads were a working class pride movement that got co-opted by racists.  Originally they were into reggae.

    ^ Oh OK bye.
  • I've learned to tolerate drama...except on the boat
They still sell Original Shredded Wheat, though; it comes in yellow boxes.
  • I know it's popular, but facts can't stop a good joke.

I knew this too, but see above.

AU: They do? I hadn't noticed; I thought it was long gone.

And heh, there's a GIF on KnowYourMeme's "MY BRAIN IS FULL OF FUCK" page that looks like a pornographic image of a woman diddling herself...turns out it's just a cleverly-shot video of someone rubbing their eye.

Sorry, Naney.  I am tired and lacking in a sense of humour, and also I was really taken aback that Weetabix was not something everyone had heard of.  I had assumed it was internationally known.

Friday can find boxes of it, but this requires going to specialty shops, or huge stores that have an English section.

And yeah, I'm sure very few Americans know what it is, let alone seen a box of it.

    Oh well.

That can be my third important discovery of the morning, then.

Also, you get stores with an "English" section?

There are a ton of stuff that brits do that Americans have no clue about.

    And subtle differences.

FOR INSTANCE, though, Twinings tea is easy to come by, it is sold as "Twinings of London". It is substantially less strong than regular Twinings, and the flavors are often way different.
  • THIS MACHINE KILLS FASCISTS
Pretty much every decent supermarket here in the Virginia suburbs has an English section, yeah. Things like Bird's Custard, Bisto, Heinz Baked Beans, barley water, I think they may even have treacle.
  • THIS MACHINE KILLS FASCISTS
Also, I'm watching Lindsay's Top Ten Guilty Pleasures, and great googly moogly is she cute when she's out of character and gushing about stuff.

    >I think they may even have treacle

This is such a fucking bizarre thing to even read.  Like it's not even a given, like it's even in a special section and you're not even sure it's there.

I am culturally ignorant and it shows.

Yeah, we don't use treacle much here, it's either molasses or corn syrup usually.

Welp, time to call it a night. I notice Ally hasn't answered any of my messages from, like, much earlier tonight; I hope she's okay, as she's usually pretty punctual about that. Tomorrow I read stuff, dammit. I'll make myself!

    Good night!

    No worries.

I've never tried to update an avvie on the mobile site, but I have a feeling I never want to.

    Good morning.

Not much going on at the moment. I'll probably go out and get some semblance of physical activity sometime between now and this evening.
  • Guten tag. (I probably spelled that wrong)
  • NYEH.

The Runaway Guys Mario Party 2 LP is ending today.

Can we get Tim to win at least one board? :/
  • Remember back in the 50s when they'd record like Elvis singing YOU AIN'T NOTHIN BUT A HOUND DOG and then they'd turn the record over and reverse it and it was all NYERP NYERP NYERP NYERP NYERP and people were all like, "That is actually the voice of Satan coming from that song."
I'm disappointed that Tim isn't winning more often, too. I'm glad he's such a good sport about it, though. He seems to be having a lot of fun regardless of whether he gets anywhere close to winning.

Tim is NintendoCapriSun, by the way. For some reason, he likes to go by his real name in these collaborative projects.
  • Yeah. As much as I'd like to see him win, it's still nice to see all three of them having fun.

...And it's probably because NintendoCapriSun is a bit of a mouthful. Even just shortening it to NCS is harder to say than just Tim. :P
  • And I think they call ProtonJon Jon because Jon is not only part of his username, but also part of his real name and they call Chuggaaconroy Chugga because...I dunno. :P

Chugga is slightly quicker to say than Emile, so there might be that. But he is the odd one out there, I notice.
  • Ah. True.

...And I've also noticed that he doesn't really like saying his name as much as the others. Tim says his full real name (Timothy Bishop) usually at least twice a LP, Jon...I'm not sure about Jon, I don't really watch his stuff, and Chugga...just doesn't seem to like saying what his real name is. I dunno.
  • EPISODE 1 OF BOWSER LAND WAS UPLOADED 3 MINUTES AGO. :3

    go tim go
  • Tim got a star from a hidden block on his first roll. This is gonna be good.

He also has a shot at the Happening Star (or at least tying for it).

Nice to see that Chugga is as excitable as always.
