well I'm trying to fund a trip to Chicago and have been taking my time with my next record
yourself??
i havent been able to get out and do much bcos the weather has been HORRIBLE it rained for like 2 weeks straight. so mostly i have been working, fiddling around w/ music and writing, drinking (its march so all the japanese beers have special pink cherry blossom editions rn), eating entire tubes of pizza flavour pringles in one sitting (dont do this it made me feel so sick)
You are the end result of a “would you push the button” prompt where the prompt was “you have unlimited godlike powers but you appear to all and sundry to be an impetuous child” – Zero, 2022
actually you guys talking about that in the Slack chat is where I got the name from.
I was in one of my weird loopy states at the time and got to thinking about how a "Hawaiian Highway" doesn't sound like a real thing because why would you need highways on an island chain. But it is and you kinda do, so in my mind it became a good metaphor for something that is seemingly impossible but actually exists.

Because I'm stupid.
I'm liking this, actually.
I like it when my roadgeekery gets people thinking about stuff.
i'm more annoyed by it being east-west than it being an "interstate"
The Hawaiian Interstates don't follow the normal "north-south is odd, east-west is even" rule. They were just numbered sequentially in the order they were built, because there are so few of them.

You will receive an album credit as "label's associated roadgeek"
you can also help with the album if you want! I'm enlisting a dedicated feedback group which right now consists of Yarrun, Sredni, and Tre.
anyway today I opened "Halcyon (Live)" by Orbital in Audacity and slowed it down 25% and it sounds amaze.
ive come to the conclusion that basically all music sounds better either:
- slowed down and pitched up or - sped up and pitched up
essentially, let's just get rid of bass like, altogether. especially 400hz. 400hz can go away. and also get rid of all the bpms between like 110 and 150.
also it's weird that a culture developed around vaporwave but nightcore is still in "something people use as an excuse to post anime babes on Youtube" territory
it's insane how many directions that vaporwave went in. like, on the one hand you have skylar spence, on the other you have flamingosis and the whole "future funk" thing, and then you have whatever the fuck 'hard vapor' is
I have probably spent too much time on /r/vaporwave reading angry nerds yell at each other about how they're ruining a genre that a maximum of like 3,000 people listen to.

according to anamanaguchi soundcloud is 'gentrifying' nightcore because it should be just an excuse to post anime titties to youtube
