Looking at the 2010 pictures, I can see why.
Labelscar is one of those sites that's fun to browse but kinda sad.

Sometimes I worry about Eastland Mall. It has one vacant anchor (the former Lazarus) and several stores that don't seem to belong to chains--usually that's a sign of a dying mall.
Still, it's managed to hold in there better than its sisters, Northland Mall and Westland Mall. The former closed in 2002 and the latter is barely hanging on with a handful of no-brand stores, anchored only by a Sears that uses only one of its original two levels.
Thing about Century III, it used to be awesome, but there was a third floor there that never seemed to have any activity. I remember there being some comics shop or something but that's it.

When I think back on it, it's amazing to me how quickly Northland Mall collapsed. Even when I was a little kid it was still a relatively successful mall. Then Easton Town Center and Polaris Fashion Place stole away all its anchor stores and customers and within just 5 years or so Northland Mall was no more.
It's an interesting contrast to malls like Westland, which stay open long past the point when they're salvageable, basically just running on inertia.
"The center portion of the Mall is now cordoned off, absolutely reeks of mold, and the lights are turned off. I doubt that even is security guard or a janitor on the premises, because they’d need Hazmat gear and supplied-air respirators to sit in that building now."

You know...dying malls become even sadder when you think of them in the context of the bigger picture.
The neighborhood around Northland Mall was more or less centered on it, so much so that that part of Columbus is still called "Northland" to this day. Northland was hit hard by the loss of the mall, and despite Mayor Coleman throwing money at redeveloping the area for almost 10 years now, it never really bounced back...

Same here, AU. For a year or two after we moved in, our subdivision was tucked away in the woods, then URBAN SPRAWL came through and now those woods are a Walgreens and a Meijer and a Lowe's and a Target and all kinds of shit...
I didn't think I would actually kill that thing; I almost did it with small arms and mind bullets alone til I remembered I had the giant beam cannon
But then it crashed. Which is fair, because I am pretty sure trying to play this game will eventually melt this computer. I just hope the thus-far reliable autosave kicked in after that.

The one time somebody actually uses the # feature for a hashtag instead of just indicating a number, and it doesn't become a link.
Questions like "Why do you want to work here?" cannot be answered by the obvious "I need a pay check and the experience and this job seems like a monkey could do it." Instead employers want you to shit out that it'll be awesome working for them because they crap out rainbows every morning.

GOD I KNOW RIGHT
Why the hell do people want to hire liars anyway? I'm a 21-year-old looking for a part-time job at a bookstore, why do you think I want to work here?

I've always had my mother (or my career counselor) help me with those questionnaires, honestly...

Ah well.

I am totally going to take a look at this.

Something very profound about seeing places from your childhood, disappearing into the abyss of the past...
I wish I could enter my memories. Not entire memories, just very specific parts.

I have no idea what even goes on there
Dick Clark is dead.
