Also, I'm sorry for disliking another of your vidya game characters, Mach. I mean, I like Squigly. I just don't like fighting against her. Which is more than I can say for anyone I dislike in Street Fighter, Based Sagat aside.
i think i never got into fighting games partly because i didn't hang out in arcades as a kid and then when i learned emulation i only had a keyboard anyway and by that point i was pretty much set because i had no social impetus to learn fighting games either so i just played games i was comfortable with or liked to explore
i mean that's how i discovered final fantasy II (SNES)
nah man, i mean chess that is done at a high-speed.
speed chess is just less thinking time
high-speed chess is done so quickly that the rules have to account for accidentally hitting your opponent's hand, because you'll be moving pieces at the exact same time.
You are the end result of a “would you push the button” prompt where the prompt was “you have unlimited godlike powers but you appear to all and sundry to be an impetuous child” – Zero, 2022
They say Mario's career is in plumbing but it seems like he and his brother are more professional princess-rescuers than anything else
So, they're cutting down a huge old tree that I liked to look at.
But, on the other hand, it is a siberian Elm, which is basically the LOL THE FIFTIES PWNZORED UR HOUSE HOPE YOU HAVE INSURANCE tree.
Tree grows extremely tall extremely fast, offering tons of shade for the first 25-30 years, and then the brittleness of its wood, combined with the size of its branches and trunk, means that it is almost certain to drop a branch of sufficient size, and combined with the structural damage caused by disease and insects, means that often a lot of the tree is dead.
Like, I mean, I always knew I was going to see that tree die, most likely in a destructive collapse. It's less cool to watch people cut it down than it would be to watch the actual moment when, out of the blue, the giant falls, but the odds of me being there at that minute are kind of slim. Also, this way, there's less danger.

The other half is that they're cutting it down because it's right by the bend in the canal where they need to make a pipeline so as to avoid flooding the worldza warudo the area when they have to shut down part of an earlier pipeline at the other bend which is beginning to crack.
I feel like there should be a regulatory body for divine sorcerers, but I don't know how to introduce that element.
It's easy when there's a strong locus of power (like a church), but instead nobody claims full moral or political authority, and there's just a lot of smaller centers of political power.
do it like the Freemasons, maybe, where every local regulatory body recognizes each other based on certain rules?

Just had someone come up to me in the street and ask for a fiver because she's been sanctioned, and it makes me wonder just what the hell we're doing as a country.
you can get a smartphone that's actually comparable to the one i bought three years ago for $200+coobie for, like, fifteen dollars+no coobie at your local kroger-owned grocery store
