Excuse you, my name is Alice and my avatar is also Alice

i *do* mind that becoming the Archmage or the leader of the Companions changes absolutely nothing besides some minor perks and a line of dialogue here or there. It feels sort of meaningless.
Man is a most complex simple creature: see what he weaves, and how base his reasons for doing so.
Yeah, it basically doesn't matter at all. It's just more shit to do.
My simple solution was that you can only ascend to the leadership of one, but yeah, that doesn't solve that much.
The ultimate quests were pretty fun, though. Like, when you try to cure yourself of werewolfism or do that stuff with the orb or meet the true patron of the Dark Brotherhood.
I mean in Dark Souls or Undertale, you can change things more by committing to certain paths, but those games are much easier to replay, as opposed to Skyrim's huge length.
Actually I thought it was very cool how Dark Souls tied in-universe factions to different things you could do in multiplayer, even if it didn't work well mechanically sometimes(Gravelords, Path Of The Dragon)

It's rather compelling!
It is a shame that it limits one of the iconic aspects of the game to one particular covenant.
IMO, the darkwraiths should be the Warriors of Sunlight of invasion. Anyone can invade at will, but Darkwraiths get more perks for invading.

Is it just me or do some goons embody the autistic stereotypes to an almost Heapers Hangout-esque extent?

What I'm saying is that, as much as Something Awful tends to poke fun at what they see as "sperging", they can be pretty damn spergtastic themselves.

Well, every so often the traffic engineering thread devolves into arguments about whether it'll be Uber or self-driving cars that revolutionizes transportation within the next decade

i guess i interpreted your post as "goons tend to ridicule certain behaviours as typical of people with asperger's, while behaving the same way themselves"

We're having a zillion people over for Thanksgiving so Mom had me buy a huge box of single serve coffee
Neurodevelopmental disorders are not subcultures, they are not personality traits, they are not quirks.
The use of "sperg", "OCD", "Bipolar", and "autistic" to mean such is worrying.
We all know this. Central is one of them.
Nonetheless, all Central is stating that goons ridicule certain behaviors, while acting exactly the same way. It's a bit simplistic, arguably lazy, but I'd say Centie's comments are acceptable, at least.

Miko makes fun of anyone who's not exactly like her.

Alice rules!

A lot of things lack weight in those games, because they want to let you do absolutely anything.
idk if that's nostalgia talking though
in Skyrim you can be the leader of the companions and the guards will still be all 'so what do you do? fetch the mead?'

i remember seeing 'goony' used there in a way that seemed pejorative
