i will do it i will vote for rand paul and all of his nonsensical economic doctrines in 2016 and i will make a thread about it here on this very internet forum
on a more serious note, its kinda like how with some FM synths you can input a waveform and then the synth can reconstruct it
but more garbled because you're doing it with a midi piano instead of sine waves
Yeah. It's replicating the spectra of the vocals and the melody with the notes, and because vowels and consonants have distinct pitch signatures, you can recognise them in the din.
Thank you for the information! Might I ask for similar stuff?
You are the end result of a “would you push the button” prompt where the prompt was “you have unlimited godlike powers but you appear to all and sundry to be an impetuous child” – Zero, 2022
I was stuck on a homework problem and the internet didn't help...so I opened the textbook and actually found what I needed to know.

Vocoders operate under similar principles (albeit in reverse), a classic use being Kraftwerk's "Autobahn", but I think you gathered that already. Matmos on their album Supreme Balloon do some really interesting things with synthesised sound in that arena as well.
That used to be a common trick in the pre-sampling days; digital synths were working with slow processors and scant memory, so one thing you do with them was pre-process a sound on a bigger machine, which generated a frequency table, and then feed the frequency table to the synth somehow and have it run down the coefficients to (try to) re-create the original sound. The PPG Wave was designed to do this (assuming you put down the cash for a Wave Term, anyway), and I think the Fairlight could do it, too.

In fourth grade my class took a field trip to Ohio Village, which is a little fake town set up right off I-71 and 17th Avenue, meant to look like a small Ohio town might have looked in the 1860s.
One of the gimmicks is that you can actually buy stuff from the shops. If you wanted a drink, you could get root beer in traditional-looking brown bottles.
So my classmate and I are walking along and we see these two middle schoolers sitting on a fence drinking root beer from their bottles and my classmate goes "You got BEER? Cool!"
I think that was my first real experience with secondhand embarrassment.
We had some really nifty school trips. Once we went to the Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh; for another, we saw Wicked on Broadway, although I misplaced my glasses for that one...
Anyway, I am going to sleep now, Goodnight and good luck, everyone.

Good night Sredni.
...jeez, it's later than it feels. Time to get a snack and take my pills.

Flattering, but I wish; I haven't listened to Kraftwerk, let alone Autobahn, in a very long time. And I'm just painfully unfamiliar with music as a medium overall. My intro to music class helped pretty nicely, although not being in the best state of mind helped then, heh. I'm tired and so I can't really formulate a response well, though expect me to follow you up on this should I remember.

(disclaimer: I don't actually condone vaping, t'was merely a spoof of a meme; however, I will take secondhand vape over secondhand cigarette smoke any day of the eternity and then some)

Just got out of chem lab myself. Didn't have time to finish this week's experiment, but I finished one I hadn't yet completed two weeks ago, so it wasn't a waste of time...
Seeing people walk into the laundry room and be disappointed to see that there isn't a free washing machine when you've taken up two of them getting all your bedding and dirty washing done and you're like "lol whoops sorry"
