Goddammit, Amazon, you're telling me my estimated delivery date for my new tablet is "October 12th - 16th" but you haven't even shipped the damn thing yet
Throw me a bone here, I'm going crazy since my last tablet got destroyed
my laptop's estimated ship date got pushed back to the 22nd due to a part shortage

I can't stand people who complain about being corrected on pedantic things
If you don't want people to constantly correct you, stop saying the wrong thing after it's pointed out to you the first time
Every time i try to talk about a meal, i say 'lunch' when it's supposed to be 'tea', or 'tea' when it's supposed to be 'lunch', and every single time someone (my mum or dad) corrects me
i don't like this, it annoys the hell out of me
but i get it wrong, every time
it's not even that i don't know the difference, i do, but somehow i'm never thinking 'oh i'd better be careful to get the right word this time', i'm thinking about the meaning i intend to convey, not the words i'm gonna use for it
and you might think, why DON'T i think about that before i talk? and the answer is, at the time, it literally never occurs to me to think about that. i never see it coming, it just happens
also i hate when people correct me about a dropped 'h' or whatever
if i thought about every word carefully before opening my mouth i'd never say anything at all

I always found this cover hilarious:
It's quite blatantly the artwork from The Sims 2 base game box with some mildly Christmassy elements hastily photoshopped in:
Granted, that's exactly what I'd expect from a quick EA holiday cash-in, but it's still amusing.
A surprisingly large percentage of the population, although generally the main difference between w- and wh- in people who differentiate them is whether or not they are voiced.
Also, the Tamám Shud case is fucking weird and I am probably going to incorporate elements of it into the thing I am writing because—weird coincidence—Persian gangsters are involved.

I made a codes thread earlier but no one has posted in it

How did modern magical society ever get by without my monarchy's leadership??
i'm not posting in your codes thread because i'd make it into modern crypto which is all math bullshit that most people here probably wouldn't find that interesting
[FYI this post used to contain a pastebin link and two vocaroo links. FYI the vocaroo links were recorded with the people who were being recorded knowing that they were being recorded.]

nobody round here does
i think
often i have to pause before i respond to people, it weirds out people who don't know me
i wasn't talking about literally the word 'whatever', nobody around here pronounces the h in that
what the fuck
it's been a while since i've not checked HH for long enough for that to happen
also i feel like i should respond to the short story thread, but i'm blanking on what i wanted to say
i feel kind of stupid at the moment
Codes?
(Yes, that is a number lock where all the numbers are written in formal kanji. No, the game does not give you a guide to Japanese.)
